About Maegan
👋 Hello, thank you for visiting my profile!
I have over four years experience walking dogs for friends and family, caring for dogs of different breeds, sizes and temperaments, including nervous dogs and over 2 years of caring for cats with medical needs.
🐕 WHY CHOOSE ME
I hold a Level 3 Diploma in Animal Science and Welfare, have volunteered with the RSPCA at their cattery, completed a placement at a private small animal boarding, Im fully insured and Pet First Aid & CPR certified and currently pursuing a canine communication and behaviour qualification and as a dog owner myself I understand the importance of knowing your dog is in safe hands.
🐾 NOT A STANDARD WALK!
Every walk is adjusted to your dog's needs and your preferences. Whether your dog enjoys woodland walks, beach walks, quiet routes or secure enclosed fields, I'll always discuss the best option with you beforehand.
🤝 MEET AND GREET
Im always open to a meet and greet before your first booking so we can get to know each other, discuss your dog's routine, and make sure they're happy and comfortable with me. It's also a great opportunity for you to ask any questions and tell me about your dog's likes, dislikes and any special requirements.
📅 A TYPICAL DAY
A typical day with me is all about making sure your dog has lots of fun, exercise, and attention!
I believe every dog is an individual, so I'll take the time to get to know your dog's personality, routine and unique way of communicating.
I'm happy to walk in all weather conditions, but I always put your dog's welfare first. I carefully adapt each walk depending on the temperature, weather and your dog's individual needs.
I often take my own dog running, sniff walks, swimming, to secure enclosed dog parks and on different walking adventures, so if your dog enjoys those activities too, I'd love to include them. We also spend time playing fetch, throwing a ball, enjoying interactive games, and practising a little training to keep their minds active as well as their bodies.
⛑️ UNDERSTANDING SAFETY AND TRUST
I treat every pet as if they were my own, and every owners home with the same respect i would expect for mine. I understand how important consistency is, so I always follow each owner's instructions and keep to their pet's usual routine, including feeding, medication (if required), exercise and training.
I always carry poo bags, treats, fresh water and my Pet First Aid Kit, and I'm prepared for changes in weather or unexpected situations.
After every walk, you'll receive photos and a personalised summary so you know exactly how your dog got on. I'll let you know where we walked, how long we were out, any play, training or swimming (if agreed), toilet breaks, and anything else worth mentioning, so you always have peace of mind.
‼️IMPORTANT
It's really helpful to know about their daily routine, feeding schedule, exercise needs, favourite toys or activities, and any commands they know as well as any medical conditions, medications, allergies, or behavioural quirks, such as being nervous around other dogs, people, or certain situations. If there are any triggers, fears, or habits I should be aware of, the more information you can share, the better I can tailor my care to your pet's individual needs.
My goal is to make their walk as enjoyable and stress-free as possible while giving you peace of mind that they're in caring, capable hands.
I typically offer 45 minute walks around throop, canford and the new forest, driving is not included in the 45 minutes.
Drop ins can be anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour depending what is needed, I'm pretty flexible and understand how important a routine can be.
Im also able to give tablet and liquid medication and food.
