Hi, I’m Ellie!

I have always felt most at home around animals, and my interest in dogs goes far beyond simply loving them. I am fascinated by how they communicate, what motivates them and how the right care, routine and environment can help them feel happy and secure.

I currently work in marketing, but after almost ten years in the corporate world, I am looking to make a gradual career change into dog care and, eventually, dog training. I want to build as much practical experience as possible while continuing to learn about canine behaviour, body language, welfare and reward based training.

I grew up with a Golden Retriever and also spent a lot of time around my babysitter’s two Boxers, so I am comfortable with larger and more energetic dogs. My best friend is a dog groomer and has always had dogs, so they have remained a big part of my life. I currently live with my cat, who I absolutely adore, although she is not comfortable around dogs, so unfortunately I cannot offer care in my own home.

I am starting by offering thoughtful and reliable dog walks alongside my current job. My aim is to make every walk safe, enjoyable and suited to the individual dog, whether they need time to explore and sniff, burn off some energy, practise calm engagement or simply enjoy some company.

Walks would usually range from 30 to 50 minutes depending on the dog’s age, size, energy levels and individual needs.

As I currently work full time, my main availability is early mornings, evenings and weekends. I may also be available during the daytime on Tuesdays and Fridays, when I work from home. I hope to become much more flexible over the coming months as I gradually move towards working with dogs full time.

I can also offer daytime dog sitting on Tuesdays and Fridays, provided there is a reliable internet connection for me to work from, and I am happy to discuss weekend availability.

I completely understand how much trust is involved in leaving your dog with someone new, so I am always happy to answer questions, meet beforehand and share references or examples of my experience with animals. I would treat every dog in my care with the same patience, attention and affection I would want for my own.
