Hello! I’m Tanika. I am a work-from-home Mental Health Counsellor who manages my own daily schedule, meaning I have an incredibly flexible routine with plenty of open availability to dedicate to your beloved pets. Animals inspire me to live a more present, mindful, and peaceful life, and I treat every animal in my care with the exact same love and devotion I would show my own.

Our Daily Routine & Garden Breaks:

I work comfortably from home, therefore your furry family member will enjoy constant human companionship throughout the day. A typical day involves cozying up in my home office while I work, broken up by regular, frequent garden breaks every 2 to 3 hours in our secure, fully fenced outdoor area. We will go for dedicated local walks and have outdoor play session to keep energy levels happy and balanced.

Safety, Children & Supervision Boundaries:

Your pet's absolute safety is my top priority. I share my home with my lovely 3-year-old son, who has grown up around animals and absolutely loves them. As we have a young child, I maintain strict safety boundaries: guest pets are never left unsupervised with my son or alone in the garden. I ensure all interactions are 100% monitored, calm, and respectful, giving both your pet and my child their own safe spaces to relax comfortably.

My Experience & Skills:

Growing up in South Africa blessed me with a deep, lifelong connection to animals, nature and wildlife. My hands-on pet care experience spans a vast range of animals, from everyday household dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs, to birds and reptiles. I am highly comfortable with specialized, technical pet care needs, including administering prescribed veterinary medications, basic puppy lead/potty training, and intensive round-the-clock newborn care—having successfully hand-reared a litter of six 2-week-old Yorkshire Terrier puppies with bottle feedings and continuous stimulation.

My Setup & Restrictions:

To ensure the highest level of focused safety, I strictly look after one household's pets at any given time. I accommodate all sizes of friendly, house-trained dogs, cats, and small caged animals who are comfortable and safe living alongside a respectful child. I only ask that you let me know about any specific dietary restrictions, reactivity, or unique behavioral quirks ahead of time so I can tailor the perfect routine!
