I'm a friendly, caring and reliable pet lover who would love to help look after your furry family members! 

My name is Alex Harland, I am 22 and I have years of experience with pets. I have had 2 dogs, 2 cats, 3 fish and a pet rock 😂. After the age of 6, I haven't spent more than a couple of months without a pet in my life. My first pet was a dog called Star, who we sadly had to say goodbye to back in 2021, she was the bestest princess anyone could ask for, she never barked, she always sat and gave paw for a treat, she would wait by the dog and give us evil looks if we didn't let her out, and once she was bored of us she'd take herself off to bed upstairs while giving us a looks as if to say "you lot are boring now, how are you still awake, it's 9pm!!". Then a couple months after she passed we got our next dog, Denzel, whom I looked after every day during his puppy days during the summer holidays before I started College. Just like most pups, he was very bitey but loved laying on me and sleeping, and playing, the amount of toys he's gone through over the years, but he'd keep the odd stuffed toy, I guess he had a favourite.

I understand that pets are an important part of the family, and I'll always aim to make them feel safe, comfortable and loved while you're away. 

I'm happy to follow your pet's usual routine, including feeding times, walks and any specific instructions you provide. I also understand how reassuring it is to receive updates while you're away, so I'd be happy to send photos, videos and messages to let you know how your pet is getting on (I'll make sure your pet also read the messages to assure them that you'll be home :) )

My availability is only affected every other weekend, e.g. 16th-18th October 2026, busy. 23rd-25th October 2026, free, etc. other than that i am free whenever you need me. typical walk and visit duration and preferred walking areas is whatever you recommend in your area, whether that means going around the corner for a quick walk, or to the local park for a long walk.

Home visits will be as long as you need, whether that's a quick check in for 30 minutes or overnight if you plan on going away without your pet. I will never leave your pet alone for any amount of time. If your pet is allowed to be left alone, it would never be longer than an hour.

During overnight house sitting, please give me a night and morning routine that your pet follows and if you have specific rules for your house, please tell me and i will follow them. I am a guest in your house, so everything gets treated with the utmost respect and any accidentally damages will be fully compensated for.

I have experience with walking mine and my friends dogs. Over the last year, my friend has been looking after guide dogs in training and taking them on walks, on some occasions I have joined her on these walks, either her coming to mine and going to my local park by Chiltern Hills Academy, or me going up to hers and going to Black park for a nice stroll with the dogs.

If your dogs has a recall, please let me know what that is, whether it's their name or a whistle. If they do not have a recall of any type then they will not be allowed off the lead even if you allow it (I will test the recall while they are on the lead to know they would come back to me and that they don't just listen to your voice).

If anything happens to yours or anyone elses dog on the walk, I will inform you to come home ASAP and if your dog causes any harm to another dog, I will pass your details on to the dog owner and inform you about it (Hopefully this does not happen and I will do my best to prevent this from ever happening)

You're furry friend is my main priority and making sure they are happy and comfortable with me is top of the list

I'm based in the Chesham area and have my own car, which helps me get around locally.
