About Graham
I am a lifelong dog lover offering experienced, reliable and loving dog care, because your best friend deserves the very best.
I was lucky enough to share over 10 wonderful years with my own dog before he recently passed away, so I understand just how much trust it takes to leave your beloved companion in someone else's care.
Although I'm not able to have a dog of my own at the moment, I have plenty of time to care for dogs for a week or two at a time. I simply love the company of dogs and genuinely enjoy having them around, so looking after them is something I find incredibly rewarding. My aim is to make sure they receive all the love, attention and care they deserve, so you can enjoy your time away knowing they're in safe hands.
I work from home for much of the day and only really leave the house to teach my martial arts classes, so your dog will have company for most of the day rather than being left alone for long periods. On the occasions I do go out, your dog would typically be left alone for no longer than 2–4 hours, depending on the day. As a full-time martial arts instructor, I'm calm, patient and active, and I'm more than happy to care for energetic dogs that enjoy plenty of exercise and attention.
During their stay, your dog will receive daily walks (tailored to their age, breed and energy levels), plenty of playtime, lots of fuss and affection and, of course, they'll be fed and given fresh water regularly according to your instructions. I'll do my very best to keep them in their normal routine so they feel safe, settled and happy while you're away. I only accept dogs that I know I can give the time, care and attention they deserve, so I'll never take on more than I can comfortably look after.
During the day, your dog is welcome to relax wherever they feel most comfortable, whether that's on the sofa, an armchair or in their own dog bed. At night, they can sleep in a dog bed downstairs, on the sofa, in an armchair, in a dog bed in my bedroom or, if that's what they're used to at home and you're happy for them to do so, they're more than welcome to sleep on the bed beside me. My priority is making them feel as safe, secure and at home as possible.
To me, dogs are family. As a former dog dad, I was never comfortable with the idea of leaving my own dog in kennels, so I know how important it is to have complete peace of mind that your dog is safe, happy and being cared for as if they were one of the family. My aim is to provide exactly that.
I'm happy to care for dogs of all ages, breeds and personalities. I understand that every dog is different, and I'm comfortable caring for dogs with little quirks, such as being a little nervous around other dogs or barking at passers-by. My own dog had his own unique personality, so I know that no dog is perfect. For everyone's safety and wellbeing, I simply ask that dogs are reasonably friendly, non-aggressive and comfortable being cared for in a home environment.
If your dog has any particular routines, dietary requirements, medication or little quirks, just let me know and I'll do everything I can to accommodate them. Whether your dog loves long walks, playing games or simply curling up for a cuddle, I'll treat them with the same love, patience and care that I gave my own dog for over ten years.
I'll also happily keep you updated with regular photos and messages during their stay, so you can relax knowing they're in safe hands.
Before any booking, I'd be happy to arrange a meet-and-greet so we can make sure we're a good fit for each other and your dog feels comfortable around me. That said, I'm confident that, with a little patience, kindness and plenty of fuss, I can usually help even nervous dogs feel relaxed and at ease.
I look forward to welcoming your four-legged family member into my home and giving them all the love, care and attention they deserve.
