Animals have always been a huge part of my life, which is why becoming a pet sitter feels so natural to me. I have my own dog, Koko, who is a 12-year-old Labrador, and caring for him over the years has taught me patience, responsibility, and the importance of giving pets love and attention every day. My dad also has two dogs, Pip and Fidge, so I am very comfortable around different personalities, energy levels, and routines.

I also have experience pet sitting for my uncle and his two cats, as well as regularly helping care for my dad’s dogs. Through this experience, I have learned how important it is to keep pets feeling safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I understand how important consistency is for pets, so I am confident following specific routines, feeding schedules, walking times, and any individual care instructions to help them feel settled and secure. I am also comfortable managing specific dietary requirements and making sure pets receive the correct food, portions, and any special care they need. I am happy to administer medication if required, as long as clear instructions are provided.

I understand that some pets can feel anxious or unsettled when their owners are away, so I always approach animals calmly, patiently, and at their own pace to help them feel comfortable and safe. I take the time to learn each pet’s personality, routine, and needs so I can create a reassuring environment for them. I am also very organised and manage my time well, making sure pets are cared for on schedule and receive the attention, exercise, feeding, and companionship they need throughout the day.

Your pet’s safety is always my top priority, especially on walks. I make sure dogs are securely harnessed or leashed, avoid unsafe or overcrowded areas when needed, and stay attentive to their behaviour and surroundings at all times. I am careful around roads, other animals, and anything that could make a pet uncomfortable or anxious. I always aim to create calm, safe, and enjoyable walks that suit each dog’s confidence level and energy needs.

For house sitting, I can reassure owners that my own pets are never left without care. My mum works from home and my brother is also available, so Koko and the other family dogs are always looked after while I am caring for your pets. This allows me to fully focus on giving your pets the time, attention, and care they deserve during my stay.

Spending time with animals genuinely makes me happy, whether that means going on walks, playing, feeding them, or simply keeping them company. I usually offer 30-minute walks but am more than happy to do longer walks depending on your dog’s needs and energy levels. I also make sure owners feel reassured while they are away by providing regular updates, photos, and messages throughout the day. In any emergency, I would stay calm, act quickly, contact the owner immediately, and seek veterinary care if needed to make sure your pet stays safe and well cared for.

I’m available any time during the week except Saturdays, as I volunteer at my local charity shop. I’m flexible, reliable, and happy to work around your pet’s usual routine to make sure they feel comfortable and cared for.
