Hi, I’m Alexis, owner of Dogs Need, offering dog walking, drop-in visits, pet sitting and overnight care in Folkestone and Hythe.

Dogs are a huge part of my life. I have two Staffies of my own, Daisy and Thura, and Thura is extremely reactive and fearful of both dogs and people. Living with her has given me first-hand experience of the patience, awareness and careful management reactive dogs need, and I understand how difficult it can be to find someone you genuinely trust with a more challenging dog.

I also volunteer regularly with Rescue Remedies, where I walk and handle a wide variety of rescue dogs, including Staffies, bull breeds, Mastiffs, Rottweilers and other large, strong or reactive dogs. I’m physically strong, confident handling bigger breeds and very comfortable with dogs who may need a little more understanding. I’m also currently studying Dog Training and Behaviour through CIDBT.

I offer solo dog walks, tailored to your dog’s individual needs, including quieter routes for reactive or nervous dogs. Drop-in visits can include feeding, fresh water, toilet breaks, play and companionship. Pet sitting allows your dog to stay relaxed in their own familiar home, while overnight stays include their normal evening and morning routine, walks, feeding and companionship.

Every dog is treated as an individual, and my priority is always safety, consistency and building trust. If you’d simply like to have a chat about your dog’s needs before committing to a booking, I’m more than happy to do that. I completely understand how difficult it can be to find someone you genuinely trust with your dog.
