Hi! I'm Katy, a lifelong animal lover who has been blessed to grow up around cats and other animals since birth, now into my thirties! 🐾

A little about me

I've grown up with cats since birth and have been lucky enough to care for lots of different feline personalities over the years. My own cats have included domestic shorthairs, British Shorthairs and Maine Coons, and I've also cared for kittens while they waited to move to their forever homes.

My family and I have recently returned to the UK after living in France, where we were neighbours with my parents and their two cats and two English Setters, who we helped care for. Animals have always been a big part of our family life and I think it is so important to learn to care for animals properly.

I live with my husband and our young son, who has also grown up around cats and dogs and is very calm and gentle with animals. He may wish to support me, but this would only ever be at the owner's discretion, with full consent and under constant supervision. My husband is another lifelong animal lover - we often call him 'Dr Dolittle' because animals seem to naturally gravitate towards him!

Unfortunately, we're not currently in a position to have cats of our own, although we'd absolutely love to! That's one of the reasons I'm so excited about cat sitting – the opportunity to spend time with cats again while helping their owners feel reassured that they're in safe, loving hands.

I offer one or two 30-minute home visits per day, allowing your cats to stay happy and comfortable in their familiar surroundings while you're away.

During each visit, I'll make sure your cat receives all the care and attention they need, including:

• Fresh food and water, following their usual feeding routine
• Cleaning litter trays and keeping feeding areas tidy
• Plenty of playtime, cuddles and companionship (if that's what they enjoy!)
• Gentle brushing and coat care, where needed
• Administering medication, where appropriate and agreed in advance
• Regular photo updates so you can see how your feline friend is getting on

I'm comfortable caring for cats with additional needs, too. Most recently, I've helped care for my parents' visually impaired cat, who requires daily eye drops. I'm also familiar with administering routine flea and worming treatments and prescribed medication.

I know that some cats love nothing more than a cuddle and lots of attention, while others prefer their own space or simply having someone nearby. I'll always follow your cat's lead, respecting their personality and routine so they feel as relaxed and secure as possible.

I'm also happy to arrange a meet-and-greet beforehand, so we can get to know each other, discuss your cat's needs and make sure everyone feels comfortable.

Above all, I understand how important it is to know your pets are happy and well cared for while you're away. I'll treat your cats with the same love, patience and attention I'd give my own.
