Hi, I'm Michaela (aka Layla) a 41-year-old English teacher and lifelong cat lover based in Kent. My dream is to one day run a cat sanctuary on a Greek island, but for now I enjoy caring for other people's cats and giving owners peace of mind while they're away.

I grew up around rescue cats, as my mother supported cat rescue work, so I've always been surrounded by feline companions. I have 3 of my own cats, so I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy to care for both your pets and your home, and I take that responsibility seriously.

My Services

I offer cat-sitting visits once or twice a day, depending on your cat's needs. Visits are usually arranged around the school day, typically at around 7:00am and 5:00pm.

Each visit lasts approximately 20–30 minutes, allowing time for both practical care and companionship.

During each visit, I can:

Feed your cat(s) 

Refresh water bowls 

Clean litter trays 

Brush and groom cats who enjoy being handled 

Provide companionship, fuss and playtime 

Clean up any accidents 

Administer medication to cooperative cats  

Feed aquatic animals 

Water plants 

Bring in post 

Put out bins/rubbish if required

As I provide home visits, your cat can remain relaxed and comfortable in their familiar environment while you're away.

Availability

I am generally available on weekends, bank holidays and most school holidays, although I recommend checking availability in advance, particularly during peak holiday periods.

Experience

Having grown up with rescue cats and cared for cats throughout my life, I am confident handling a variety of feline personalities and needs. What motivates me as a pet sitter is knowing how reassuring it is to leave your pets in the care of someone who genuinely loves and understands cats.

As a teacher, I also hold an Enhanced DBS certificate, providing additional reassurance that your home and pets are in safe hands. When visiting your property, I will always ensure doors and windows are secure before leaving.

I know it takes a great deal of trust to allow someone into your home and care for your beloved pets. My aim is to provide reliable, caring and attentive cat care so that you can enjoy your time away knowing your cats are happy, safe and well looked after.
