I absolutely love animals (specifically dogs) and have done since a very young age and have had the opportunity to put my passion into practice by working alongside dogs and cats for over 5 years now. I proudly achieved a level 3 extended diploma in animal management (Distinction*) in 2023. I have experience in veterinary practices, dog grooming parlours, dog training centres, pet shops and am currently working at a kennels and cattery which i really enjoy. I have the role of kennel and cattery assistant and occasionally have a managerial role when required. This consists of being responsible for up to 30 dogs and 16 cats at a time which requires me to maintain a calm and caring nature, I have great organisation skills, a non bias outlook for all of the animals under my care, attention to detail and most importantly I am trusted by many pet owners, colleagues and my manager which is very important to me. I also work alone quite often, therefore, I am confident in using my initiative and decision making. I take part in assisting behavioural assessments which has allowed me to have the ability to observe, understand and correct any abnormal behaviours shown. I am also able to health check, highlight and attend to any concerning health issues displayed under my care. Day to day, I am responsible for exercising, feeding, cleaning, administering medication and providing great companionship to all animals I work with. I typically work alongside behaviourally challenged dogs that have had a hard time trusting humans and I am able to build a loving, supportive bond with all of the dogs and cats I have the pleasure of caring for. I am able to work well in difficult and challenging situations and I am very patient and understanding which I believe is vital when responsible for such wonderful creatures :)
