About Sally
Hello,
I have recently lost my beloved 16 year old dog, 'Princess Ruby Doobies' (Ruby Doobies to her friends!) . She was a little dog but full of character, even later in life when she became deaf and partially blind she made us laugh every day with her antics. We lost our 14 year old Cockapoo 2 years ago and life has not been the same since. We have had dogs all our lives and had 3 golden retrievers when I was growing up an many other animals including ducks, quails, hamster, cats, horses , you name it and we had it! You can definately call us an animal loving household.
As a dog lover yourself, you understand how a dog makes a home and our home is now very quiet and in need of 4 little paws to feel at home here and be loved and looked after as if they were in their own home. My 2 children have left home , now in their late twenties, so it is just myself and my husband living here. We back onto some woods and have a safe, dog friendly garden. We have no other animals.
I volunteer for the Cinnomon Dogs Trust and walk a little Yorkie called Holly, which I have done for the last 3 years. She is 13 years old and we just go for little potters to smell nice doggy smells in the woods ,and then she comes to stay at my house for a couple of hours just 1 day a week as her owner is wheelchair bound so it gives Holly a break from her duties of looking after her mum. She is not able to go for long walks due to her age so she mainly comes for company and cuddles. When I go to collect her I bend down to greet her and she jumps into my arms from her bed, and looks at me as if to say 'Let's go! ' and wags her tail all the way to the car jumping up for strokes.
Location - I live in a large 4 bedroom detached house, down a quiet road in Hazlemere. We live a few steps away from Kingswood which has an access walkway directly into the woods. This is a large safe wood which I have walked in for 20 years and other dog owners use who also live down this road. The dogs can safely walk off leads here as we are not near the road. I have a medium to large garden with a large patio and a medium to large grassed back garden which is fully fenced and safe for dogs to roam. Our kitchen and downstairs area is tiled and wooden floors so no carperted areas as we have always had dogs and are relaxed about little wet paw prints downstairs. Our kitchen has plenty of floor space and access to the back garden throught he back door leading off the kitchen. We tend to spend most of our time in the kitchen as it is a large living area.
I am a fit and healthy person, very athletic so can handle any dog, I am a runner but saying all of this I also am sensitive and love to be around older dogs, appreciating that some dogs may just want to smell the grass and not go running up steep hills (my Cockapoo, Nuqi, would run and hide if she saw my trainers even as a young dog so I have been trained to walk and appreciate the roses by her, which I did for 14 lovely years.)
I have a deep understanding of how dogs act and think as my sister, Debs, is an animal communicator and subsequently I have embarked on the Trust Technique which is a beginner course in animal communcation but any dog lover knows that we communicate with our animal every minute of every day by eyes, ears and touch, so we are all animal communicators by the general fact we have loved and cared for our own pets. I believe gentle but confident body language with a big dollop of love and strokes is what a dog truly needs to feel happy and content. I have volunteered at Hungary Hounds dog rescue in Penn so i understand that being a leader for nervous dogs is essential for them to be able to relax and be calm in a new environment.
I would love to meet and help you care for your dog. As a part time dental hygienist I understand how it sometimes hard to juggle life/work with a dog. Some days we also need to have days off to live our busy lives without having to worry that our dogs are left for too long. When your dog is with me they will very much be part of our family which will include lying by log fires in the winter and possibly dog walks to our local pub for Sunday lunches with our other doggy friends.
I am free most weekends , Tuesday, Wednesday and most Thursdays. I am also happy to have them overnight.
Please contact me if you would like to meet up and I can introduce myself to you and your wonderful dog(s)
Warmest regards
Sally
