About Jenny
I was born in New Zealand and after a brief stint working between NZ and Australia, I came to the UK. It's been over 20 years now, I've been living in and around London.
Being on this side of the world has enabled me to travel, experience other cultures, great food, and experiences I wouldn't have had in a geographically isolated country (even though it's stunning).
I'm a non smoker who loves to travel, meet new people, walk in nature, practice yoga, cycle, kitchen dance with my headphones on while cooking and, of course, spend time with all manner of fury friends. I've been pet and house sitting for the last four years and have some wonderful reviews and many repeat clients.
My time outside that is spent working as a strategist with business. Developing and maturing business, stabilising before or after growth, or working on targeted areas needing attention.
I love animals. I grew up with them, and until I left NZ I always had them. My lifestyle in the UK isn't conducive to having my own animals, travel and my trips back to my family in NZ mean I wouldn't be fair to a pet of my own. The next best thing is being an animal aunty to friends pets, and looking after my clients animal family.
Another great thing about being a house/pet sitter is I get to experience locations I wouldn't necessarily see in my travels. I've realised in the last few years that I enjoy the experience of living in an area and experiencing it's history, community and individuality. Getting out and about in a community with an animal that people know (if it's an animal that goes for walks) has the added bonus of meeting their animal and human friends too.
There are other bonuses to this lifestyle too. I'm a keen photographer, and while I've become a little lazy with my equipment in recent years, I still love capturing moments on my phone when I'm out walking, anything from the way a bead of water catches the light hanging from a fence wire, to paw prints in the sand or a hamster curled up in my hand munching on it's favourite coloured treat, there are many opportunities to capture the environment. I have to confess, my camera roll is often filled with the animals I care for - so that means regular updates, if that's something you'd enjoy.
