I’ve always had a natural connection with animals, and they warm to me very quickly. On several sits, owners have been shocked when cats they assured me I’d only see at feeding time are happily purring away on my lap within a couple of days.

I do a lot of energy work (meditation, tai chi, etc.) and lead a very stress-free, happy lifestyle. I absolutely believe that pets can feel this. Cats often settle on my lap as I meditate (which gives me something really calming to focus on).

I also talk to animals a lot. I often describe what I’m up to (saying things like, “This is how we make coffee. You don’t need this, but humans love having a cup in the morning to help us wake up!”), then explain the process as they watch. Cats absolutely love it and watch everything you do with such interest. It’s adorable.

I understand animal psychology well, so I know how to communicate with body language that makes pets feel safe and comfortable around me. Even very anti-social cats bond with me super quickly, so you can rest assured that they will be relaxed while you’re away.

I grew up surrounded by pets, including cats, dogs, guinea pigs, rabbits, fish, tortoises, and horses, so caring for animals has been a part of my everyday life from a young age.

I work as a writer on my laptop, which means that when I’m pet sitting I can stay in your home all day, so your pets will get lots of company, attention, exercise, and play throughout the day and night, not just quick visits.

I don’t have any dependants or fixed commitments, so I’m often the go-to pet sitter for friends and family. I’m very flexible, available at short notice, and happy to travel. I love staying in different cities around the UK and abroad, and I’m open to both short-term and long-term sits. The longest pet sits I’ve completed so far were six months (on two separate occasions).

Although I grew up with many pets, I don’t currently have any of my own. I travel frequently, and I feel it wouldn’t be fair to have pets while being away so often. Pet sitting is the perfect balance for me, as it allows me to give animals the love, care, and companionship they need while enjoying their company (without feeling guilty when I go away!).

I have many repeat pet sits, with pets that get super excited when I return. My favourite is a Bengal that’s extremely chatty. Whenever I go back, she excitedly meows at me for ages. It always feels like she’s filling me in on all of the gossip and everything she’s been up to since my last sit for her.
