About Tom

Since an early age I have always had pets in our house, from the typical- cats, dogs, fish to the somewhat unusual ferret, tarantula, tortoises - we've had them all, and I've loved them all.

My partner (Jen) and I are 30 year old animal lovers who recently moved to the Ibstock area last year and although this is the first time without our own pet in the house we still find my friends and families pets in here almost routinely! We've cared for primarily dogs (but we do love a cat) ranging from my dad's crazy Shitzhu- Ted to my in-laws unbelievably big Great Dane - Daisy. We love pets of all shapes and sizes!

We love walking and would love to walk your dog!

What We Offer:

We can offer a range of services including:

  • Over night stays at our home Wednesday through to Sunday (2 dogs MAX at any given time)
  • Over night stays at your home Thursday through to Sunday
  • Day time stays at our home Thursday through to Sunday (2 dogs MAX at any given time)
  • Day time stays at your home Thursday through to Sunday
  • 1 hour Walks (2 dogs MAX) in the late evening throughout the week and ALL DAY Thursday to Saturday (6 dog walks per day) through numerous woodland areas located around Ibstock & Coalville
  • Bathing and cleaning your dog: Bath, Brush, Wipe and Spray.

I am however easy going and very much a dog lover so will work with you and your pet to make my timetable work around you! Just ask!

When your pet is at our homestay (Wednesdays to Saturdays) there will not be a time when your pet will be alone, my days off are Thursday - Saturday so your pet will be the focal point of my time, alternatively my partner works from home Friday and has Saturday/Sunday off so we have the weekend completely dedicated to your pet! It's just me and my partner (Jen) in the home no pets of our own or children, and when your pet stays with us they will sleep downstairs in our living room; we have plenty of dog blankets, toys and our own bowls for their stay. If there are any anxious dogs that don't like left being alone we are comfortable with them staying in our bedroom or I tend to like sleeping on my sofa located in the living room with them. (Dogs on sofas IS allowed in this household).

We also have a gated back garden (with locks) that they'll be able to have access to as and when they please, I like to keep the back door open for air flow and whenever we have my families dogs visit the door is always open during the day for them to go outside as and whenever the please.During the week where we both work we are happy to allocate some of our evening to your pet from 5pm onwards till 9pm.

During walks I will make sure to take into account your dogs individual needs I can cater to this, for example whether or not the dog can be let off the lead, strength in recall, whether or not to avoid other dogs or humans. It doesn't just end at walks,

We are always so cautious and patient when dealing with a new pet, taking the time for the dog/ cat to come to us and smell us before even attempting to pet them. And if there are any nervous dogs out there who aren't always comfortable being around their own kind or the stresses of the outside world I can handle that too, making sure to keep calm, gently removing myself and your pet away from any distress and getting back to the lovely walk they deserve.

My availability is on Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays all day and my partner is available Saturday and Sunday all day and Friday just after 5pm. These are our days off as we work full time jobs but are happy allocating this time to pet care as we love it so much! But generally evenings on the other days of the week are fine too for walks and in-home visits - just not over night stays. We are easy and with a simple conversation we are happy to work something out that works for you, and us.

I will be sure to communicate with you on an update after a home visit, walk or over night stay keeping you at ease - this can be by text, pictures, video or FaceTime if you prefer.
