Hi, I’m Gareth. I’m 46 and have always been a cat person — I grew up with cats, and I’m still the person who says hello to every cat I meet. I’ve been cat sitting for around 10 years, so I’m very experienced with all sorts of personalities and needs.

My wife Louise and I previously fostered many cats through Cats Protection. It was incredibly rewarding, from helping shy kittens gain confidence to supporting older or nervous cats who hadn’t had the best start in life. This gave me a lot of hands‑on experience with shy, anxious or unfriendly cats, as well as caring for cats who need medication or have specific routines. We don’t foster anymore because our rescue tabby, Margot Mueller, has decided she runs the house.

My visits typically last around 30–45 minutes, depending on what your cat needs — feeding, playtime, medication, or just quiet company. I always send updates after each visit, usually with photos or videos, so you know exactly how your cat is doing while you’re away.

If anything unexpected happens, I follow your instructions first, and I’ll contact you straight away. I’m used to handling small issues calmly and sensibly, and I’ll always make sure your cat is safe and comfortable.

Some cats take time to warm up, so I’m always happy to come round beforehand to meet them and make sure they feel at ease.
