Hello :) I'm Amy, I'm 33 years old. I am a very calm, kind, highly empathetic human and have grown up surrounded by animals from the day I was born. Dogs, cats, horses, and every creature in between have been a constant presence throughout my life, but dogs have always held a special place in my heart. My uncle was a professional dog trainer, and with family dogs always in the home, I began learning how to handle and train them from a very young age [I also offer (very) basic training during dog walks if desired]. Animals are my greatest passion in life, and truthfully, the pets I grew up with taught me more about unconditional love, loyalty, and the beauty of being present than most humans ever have. They are, simply put, my greatest joy. Growing up in the UK and South Africa with large and extra large breed dogs, I walked them daily on beaches, through forests, along hiking trails, and on busy roads, learning early how to handle them with confidence and calm. I completed my university studies in South Africa, where I also volunteered with the Animal Welfare Society doing dog walking and care. I am certified in animal behavior and psychology with a specific focus on dogs, and I actually wrote my Master's degree on the human-animal relationship, exploring the deep bond between humans and animals, why animal cruelty exists, and how we can cultivate better human-animal relations in the world. I also recently completed a course in pet first aid and CPR. Animals are not just my job. They are my area of genuine passion and academic and professional expertise. I began pet sitting professionally at eighteen, giving me well over a decade of hands-on experience. As a digital nomad over the last few years, I have cared for dogs and pets of all breeds, sizes, and ages across Europe, the UK, South Africa, and Asia. It has been noted by many owners that even sensitive dogs tend to trust me quickly and naturally. As a family, we always adopted rescue animals, some with difficult backgrounds or starts to life. I am fit, strong, healthy, a non-smoker, and I do not drink. I work from home, meaning during any sitting arrangement I will be present with your dog almost all day, every day.
