Hello! My name's Maya, I'm 24 years old and I currently live in Newbury with my partner and our two furbabies Hummus and Hector (both cats - 9 months old). I've just finished my Masters in Human Rights Law and am currently doing a Nanny/PA/Consulting job for a year before I get back into my research field. I currently have the middle of the day free whilst the kids are in school so have the perfect opportunity to check in on your furbabies during the day should you need, I am also available to stay over in your home. I will also travel to you in the areas surrounding Newbury if you are out of my immediate area.

I am a huge animal lover and have been surrounded by pets all my life. This includes growing up with my three extra cat siblings and my dalmation whom I adored. After they all passed away and I moved to University I felt their was something missing from my life - animals in general, bring me so much happiness and joy.

I owned my dalmatian bitch, Millie, for 13 years so I grew up with her and raised her from a puppy until old age so I know how to handle dogs and give them the care they need. I also interned at a vets and a kennels when I was a teenager as well as my family occasionally dogsitting a jack russell for a friend, walking our neighbours husky and fostering dalmations for a time so I have a high level of experience with dogs. I have recently starting dogsitting/walking in the Berkshire area and have references upon request.

I began volunteering for New Start Cat Rescue Centre, helping with administering medication, cleaning cages and was involved in the whole re-homing process. I also house and cat sat for a couple in London for 3 weeks whilst they went travelling around Vietnam. I did not know this couple, I interviewed for them and they chose me as they believed I would be the best fit to look after their beloved cat Madonna. I also had to administer eye drops to Madonna for the first week. I've also begun kitten-sitting (kitten is 10 weeks old) for my friend on a need be basis. This shows I am trustworthy and reliable. I also have an up to date DBS check should you wish to see it.

My two cats are currently little tearaways as they are only 9 months old but I love them like they are my children. Hummus has had a rough start in life having come to us with a bad flea infestation and giardia parasite, we then found out he has an immuno-depressing disease which means he gets ill frequently and I give him medicine for this daily, he also recently showed signs of a skin allergy which meant he had to wear a cone for 3 weeks and I had to administer ear drops for 5 days and a skin cream for 7 days. But we wouldn't change him for the world and I am happy to give medication as instructed should your pet require.
