Hi 👋 My name is Kath and I live in St. Julians, Newport, near Brecon Park. I am offering predominantly dog walking and sitting services at your own home. Whether it be for an hour or overnight whilst you are away from home, I have my own transport. I can adapt to your dogs needs for short or long walks, on or off lead, depending on the need and energy requirements of your dog, and can make arrangements with you to suit. I'm also happy to care for cats and smaller pets and have owned rabbits, hampsters and birds in the past. I have a true love of all animals and would always treat them as I would my own. I have owned pets all my life, as a child growing up we had cats and a toy poodle, which I helped my mother train. When I left home my first pet was a female German shepherd, my mother in law had her brother and I used to walk them both together and trained them, and always let them off lead after I'd trained them with recal. When I lost her (Sasha) to old age I had 2 cats, (brother and sister) and a year later rescued a border collie called Kayla. Kayla was from a working farm in Brecon and was 9 months when I had her from a family with toddlers who did not have the knowledge or time to dedicate to a border collie. She would chase cars, herd children and bark at fast moving things. With a lot of positive reward training and time and patience Kayla would walk off lead by my side, and she became an amazing, clever, loyal and trustworthy friend. I lost her in January this year 😢 When I met my partner in 2022 they owed a puppy Jug female (Jack Russell x Pug) Quite a challenging mix, very active and reactive Jack Russell side but also a very sensitive and nervous side. We later took on a male Jack Russell from a friend who was home alone too much and needed more tlc. He settled in lovely and last year we mated them and they had 5 beautiful puppies, one of which we kept. I have been helping to train my daughter in laws stubborn but beautiful chow! So we currently have 3 at home, and my partner is home with them so I am able to be away from home to do this. I own my own home and like to look after it and respect it and would treat anyone else's home exactly the same. I am trustworthy and reliable and have been a support worker for the last 10 years including visiting people in their own homes, meaning It was compulsory to have a police and criminal record check for all of this time. This is new to me as a means of employment, I have always wanted to work with animals and now is the time to make it happen, I understand it takes time to build up trust to allow a stranger in your home with your beloved pet and hopefully you'll meet me and give me the opportunity to entertain your pets while your not at home. And as they say a stranger is a friend you haven't met yet!! I feel I am experienced with different breeds and can offer love, time and patience to your 4 legged friends, and I look forward to meeting you and your pet!
