About Alice

My name is Alice, and I am based in Shipdham and the surrounding areas. I have always been passionate about caring for all animals, and I am excited to meet your beloved pets! I currently have two rescue cats, Dylan and Duchess, who I adopted from the animal charity where I work. They are a big part of my life, and I have further strengthened my passion for animal care and welfare. My interest in animals began when I was 3, and I had Guinea Pigs called Bubble & Squeak. I am no stranger to unusual pets, as I have had 3 pairs of rats over the years.

What motivates me most as a pet sitter is ensuring pets are happy, safe, and well cared for while their owners are away. I enjoy building trust with pets, getting to know their individual personalities, and providing the attention, companionship, and enrichment they need to feel comfortable and relaxed. As someone who has worked in animal care for five years and has pets of my own, I understand the importance of owners having peace of mind knowing their pets are in caring and capable hands.

My favourite animals are penguins and sloths, and I love visiting zoos with my sisters, nieces and nephew. I'm passionate about animals and enjoy learning new facts about them, which I love sharing with my family.

 Experience

I have five years of experience working for an animal charity, caring for a wide range of small animals, including rabbits, guinea pigs, rodents, ferrets, and birds. Through this role, I have developed extensive knowledge of their care, welfare, and behavioural needs. I understand the importance of providing species-specific enrichment, mental stimulation, and social interaction to keep pets happy and healthy. I am committed to ensuring every animal in my care feels safe, comfortable, and well looked after. My experience allows me to confidently care for pets with different personalities and requirements, giving owners peace of mind while they are away.

I used to volunteer once a week at my local Cats Protection Adoption Centre, where I helped with cleaning and socialising with the cats in their care!

With three years of Animal Care at Easton and Otley College, I have experience caring for cats, dogs, small animals, reptiles, birds, and fish. My studies covered animal health and welfare, behaviour, handling, and feeding. This gave me the skills to provide reliable, knowledgeable, and loving care for your pets while you're away.
