Animal lover, adaptable, reliable, character references available😊

I grew up with 2 dogs, 5 cats, and 1 bird. Being around animals is second nature to me!

I am a recently graduated medical doctor (MD), currently completing an online Masters in public and preventive health (MPH).

I am available to house and pet sit, whether that be daily pop ins, short stays, or longer stays of weeks to months.

I have had plenty of years looking after animals while growing up (I know to check for ticks, grooming, vaccinations ect.) and experience pet sitting. Some other experiences include looking after a disabled cat, nursing an ill cat that had leukaemia, and rescuing a stray kitten and raising her. 

I am South African (dual South African and British citizenship), currently in the UK as a a family member has taken ill with cancer, and I will be staying in the UK indefinitely to support her. 

I miss my animals in South Africa so much! So it is a dream to connect with animals again, especially during this time in my life. I have so much love to give to all the furry friends of this earth. House sitting with the bonus of getting to love the beautiful animals is a wonderful experience.

I am able to help with grooming, give medication, make vet visits if needed. You name it. As I have grown up with so many animals, I am accustomed to different dietary requirements and nuances each pet may prefer. I can also water plants and anything else you may need whilst away. 

A little about me: I am reliable and dedicated as demonstrated through patient safety and communication through hospital placement on the NHS, and outside of science and learning, I love art, creativity, poetry, (animals of course!) and connecting with the earth! Some of my dreams include bridging traditional western and holistic medicine and providing better access to healthcare for all. 

I feel that looking after others and caretaking comes very naturally to me, and I’ve had extensive time taking care of patients in hospital, clerking, completing procedures, or simply holding a patient’s hand and offering kindness. And I feel those skills transfer very well into looking after animals.
