My family and I are lifelong dog lovers — the kind who believe there’s nothing better than a snuggly pooch curled up beside you. We both grew up with family dogs, and my own beloved dog passed a few years ago. While we aren’t able to have a dog full‑time due to our work schedules, I’m a full‑time teacher and use my summer break to fill my home with wagging tails, happy paws, and plenty of cuddles.

We regularly care for our in‑laws’ Shih Tzu and Toy Poodle, as well as a friend’s Cockapoo, and we treat every dog like a cherished member of the family. I pride myself on providing attentive, gentle, and genuinely loving care — the kind of care I’d want for my own dog.

A typical day with me is calm, structured, and full of affection. I wake at 6:30am and start the day with a gentle fuss and a trip into the garden for a toilet break. At around 7am, as my husband leaves for work, I take the dog out for an early morning walk. I do this intentionally before the day warms up, giving them a refreshing, comfortable start. When we return home, breakfast is served exactly according to their usual routine, and fresh water is topped up throughout the day. The morning is relaxed and homely — lots of cuddles while I get housework done, with dogs welcome to snooze on the sofa, potter around the house, or enjoy a bit of playtime or enrichment depending on their personality.

Late morning or early afternoon often includes a family walk with my children, giving dogs extra exercise and stimulation. On cooler days, we sometimes head to the beach for a breezy walk and a change of scenery. The afternoons are peaceful and cosy; I settle down with a warm cup of coffee, and dogs usually curl up beside me for a long nap. When my husband returns from work, we head out for an evening walk together, followed by dinner, more cuddles, and a calm, comforting bedtime routine.

During the summer, I am home full‑time, so dogs are rarely left alone. If I do need to step out briefly — for groceries or a quick errand — dogs are left for no more than one to two hours, and only if owners are comfortable with this. I follow each dog’s feeding schedule precisely, whether they eat raw, kibble, or wet food, and I can confidently administer oral medication if needed. Any special routines, from cooling mats to favourite toys or crate naps, are happily followed.

Your dog’s safety is always my priority. I keep emergency contacts and vet details easily accessible, monitor dogs closely for signs of stress or overheating, and never allow off‑lead walking unless the owner has approved it and the environment is safe. I carry water, treats, and waste bags on every walk, and in the event of an emergency, I act immediately and contact the owner straight away.

In my care, your dog can expect a loving family home, plenty of exercise tailored to their needs, a predictable routine, constant companionship, and endless affection. I genuinely adore dogs, and I will treat your pooch like one of my own — maybe even better.
