About Daisy

I am an 18-year-old student who loves all animals. I have a dog myself and am happy to walk, feed, and give love and attention to any animal, big, small, or otherwise. I want to be a pet sitter because it gives me the opportunity to work while still studying for my A Levels — don’t be surprised if your pet comes back as an incredible academic after spending time with me!

I grew up in the countryside surrounded by all different kinds of animals, from chickens to horses, so I am very comfortable caring for pets with different personalities, sizes, and needs. I have a lot of knowledge about different animals and understand how important it is to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well looked after in their owner’s absence.

I know how much pets mean to people. My own dog is a Pets as Therapy dog and goes to hospitals and schools with my mother to spread joy, which has made me appreciate even more how special animals are and how important it is that they receive proper care, love, and patience.

I understand that every pet has different needs, routines, and temperaments, so I always make sure to follow your instructions carefully, whether that includes feeding times, medication, preferred walking routes, sleeping arrangements, or comfort routines. Please let me know your pet’s specific needs so I can make their time with me as stress-free and enjoyable as possible.

For walks, my usual approach is:

Medium dogs: at least 30 minutes where they can be safely let off the lead for a decent amount of time (if permitted)

Small dogs: at least 30 minutes in a quieter area where they can safely enjoy their walk while still being easy to supervise

Large dogs: at least 1 hour, with plenty of exercise and stimulation

All animals need plenty of one-on-one love and attention, so whether it is a walk, drop-in visit, or home-sitting job, I will make sure they receive lots of affection, praise, playtime, and treats if allowed.

When pet sitting, I do not believe pets should be left alone for long periods of time unless this is already part of their normal routine. I aim to keep any time alone as short as possible and always ensure they have fresh water, a safe environment, and anything they need before I leave. If staying overnight or doing longer sits, I make sure to spend quality time with them throughout the day so they feel secure and settled.

Animal safety is extremely important to me. I always make sure doors, gates, and leads are secure before walks, keep harmful foods and household items out of reach, and make sure the environment is calm and safe for your pet. I also pay close attention to behaviour changes, appetite, and energy levels so I can quickly notice if something seems wrong.

I also feel confident managing emergencies calmly. For example, when I was babysitting and looking after two dogs and a turtle, there was an accident in the kitchen. My priority was immediately making sure both the children and animals were safe, so I moved everyone upstairs away from the danger. As the turtle’s enclosure was in the kitchen, I carefully used towels to safely move the turtle and one of its shelters upstairs as well, ensuring it stayed comfortable and secure.

In the event of an emergency while caring for your pet, I would contact you immediately and follow any instructions you have left regarding your preferred vet. If urgent veterinary attention is needed, I am happy to take your pet to the vet straight away and stay with them until I receive further guidance from you. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and wellbeing will always be my top priority.

I would love the opportunity to look after your pet and make sure they feel happy, safe, and loved while you are away.
