Hello! I'm Holly, a genuine animal lover who has grown up around animals and always enjoyed spending time caring for them. Having recently moved to the area, I'm looking forward to meeting some new pets (and, of course, their lovely owners!). I have previous experience with pet-sitting and dog-walking, and would love to help give your pets the care, attention, and company they need while you're away or busy. Dog walking: I'm happy to walk small to medium-sized dogs. On weekdays, I can offer walks of 30 minutes twice a day or up to an hour once a day. At weekends, I have more flexibility and can offer walks of up to an hour twice a day. I'm also happy to arrange occasional longer walks on request, with plenty of time for breaks, sniffing and playtime along the way. I always want walks to be enjoyable and suited to each dog's needs and personality. Home visits: I'm happy to visit all kinds of pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, and other small animals. Visits can be up to an hour, twice a day, and can include feeding, refreshing water, playtime, cuddles, interaction, cleaning litter trays, and generally making sure your pets are happy and comfortable while you're away. I'm also more than happy to help with a few extra things around the home, particularly if you're going away for a longer period. This could include watering plants, collecting post, flushing toilets or running taps occasionally, and generally keeping an eye on things. I have some flexibility during the week as I'm sometimes able to work from home, and I'm generally available at weekends. Please feel free to ask about availability for any particular dates or periods! I've spent lots of time around different animals over the years. I grew up with rabbits (having had three throughout my childhood) and fish, so I understand that smaller animals need just as much companionship, interaction, and stimulation as bigger pets. At my previous home, we also had a neighbour's cat who, in true cat fashion, made himself part of our family, spending most of his days with us while his owners were at work or away. Having been hit by a car as a kitten, he had some additional support needs with his hips and feeding, which I always made sure to accommodate. I also regularly helped care for two tabby cats, one older and one younger. With dogs, I've had experience walking a poodle, a miniature schnauzer, and a little group of three chihuahuas. I also spend lots of time with my sister's lurcher, who is a rather cheeky scavenger and definitely needs keeping an eye on! He loves a trip to the park, a good play to stretch his legs and then a gentler walk back, usually with a coffee stop along the way. It's taught me that every dog has their own personality, quirks and needs, and that walks should be about more than just getting from A to B. Above all, I understand how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pets in someone else's care. I'll always aim to treat them as if they were my own, giving them plenty of attention, patience and affection, and making sure they feel safe and settled while you're away.
