Since retiring from the police service in 2015, I've enjoyed traveling and pet sitting combined. It's a great way to visit new places while enjoying the company of your pets! I've seen a lot of the world in the last couple of years and had a lot of fun with some gorgeous dogs, cats and horses along the way, to name a few of the animals in my charge.
I worked with dogs professionally and grew up with domestic family dogs at home. This is my first time without a pet of my own but petsitting allows me to love and enjoy your pets the way I would my own. I've cared for scores of dogs and numerous cats since I've been a petsitter, you can read all my excellent 5* rated reviews at www.trustedhousesitters.com.
I've also met so many lovely pet owners, most of whom ask me to return again and again to care for their homes and pets. It really is a wonderful exchange.
I remember how sick and frightened my own dog was on release from a boarding kennel many years ago (before such a thing as a pet sitter) and I still believe that a domestic pet is better off with love, care and an ongoing routine in its own home where it feels safe and secure.
I have been a dog walker and social developer for the ex-racing Greyound Community in Melbourne, a time I found very rewarding. Any Greyhound owner will tell you they are the most gentle, affectionate creatures, but sadly racing has brought about a lot of misunderstanding and they are often overlooked as a family pet.
So, after my leisurely retirement journey around the world as an international petsitter, I aim to spend longer in the UK where I can stay at your home and care for your pets giving you peace of mind they will be loved and cared for and your home will be safe and secure while you are away.
In my gallery I've posted a small selection of some of the gorgeous dogs, cats and horses I have loved and cared for over the last few years, great memories I cherish.
Excellent from start to finish. Felt very confident leaving Marvin in Sian capable hands. Would recommend.
Sian was fantastic and the Dogs were both very comfortable with her being there. Sasha in particular is very weary of people and Sian was very good at letting Sasha feel comfortable around her and before long all was well and they were the best of friends!
We would have no hesitation in recommending Sian to anyone who needed someone reliable to sit their Dogs and look after their house.
I was a dog handler by profession, I understand the mind and instincts of a dog perhaps better than most people. I have cared for several nervous dogs with social problems/personal anxieties and have made progress in developing the dog with the owner's blessing. Animals know instantly if you are are on their wavelength and my experience and insight lends itself to good, solid relationships built on trust and understanding. I can offer some basic dog training if required.
I am able to administer medication including diabetes injections.
