Hi,

My name is Martyn and, like it says, I’m a lifelong pet owner and animal lover. I worked as a veterinary nurse for eleven years after leaving school before moving into pet insurance and then into another industry.

Unfortunately, I had a substantial change in my circumstances earlier this year and had to give up work for a while. I am now in a position where I can begin to start working part-time, and, despite a long and enjoyable career in Higher Education, I have always felt that working with animals was the most enjoyable and fulfilling part of my working life. I have wished to return to this kind of work for some time and, following this enforced break, am excited at the prospect of caring for pets again.

Having been a vet nurse, I’ve worked with dogs of all shapes, sizes and characters and am happy to discuss the needs of your pet to see how I can help to make them happy. I am also available to do home visits for dogs and cats (I really miss having a cat) and whether I’m walking or visiting, I will send an update and a picture or two. Walks will be 40 minutes or 1 hour.

I am mature, reliable, conscientious, and, above all, an animal fan. I have lived with dogs and cats all my life - including a blind cat and various rescue dogs - and looked after pets for friends and neighbours; I am still servant to a now rather elderly and eccentric Border Terrier, Lily (star of a number of the pictures on my profile). Sadly, she can no longer do the walks we used to, so it would be lovely to meet some new pooches to exercise and care for.
