Hi, I'm Ella 🌙 I’m a dedicated animal lover with 6 years of pet sitting experience caring for dogs, cats, rats, and gerbils. Growing up, I was surrounded by animals and had cats and kittens, a dog, chickens (which made me vegetarian when I was 14) rodents and even horses, so caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life.

Although I don’t currently have animals of my own, I love spending time with animals and providing them with the care and affection they deserve. I’m vegan and passionate about animal welfare. I occasionally volunteer at an animal sanctuary for rescued farm animals in which I help with feeding, cleaning pens and medicating the animals.

I work full-time as a social worker and previously worked as a carer for several years, so providing compassionate, reliable support and managing risk to safety is at the heart of everything I do. Pet sitting is something I do alongside my career because I enjoy being around animals and helping animal parents feel confident that their animals are happy and well looked after.

I have experience with a variety of personalities and needs, from energetic dogs to independent cats and small pets. I’m happy to provide plenty of cuddles, playtime, feeding, companionship, and regular updates to give you peace of mind. I can clean animal areas and administer oral medication.

I have experience working with a rescued dog and will follow instructions regarding animals certain preferences about how they are interacted with and any training techniques they are following. I have good knowledge of dogs' body language and cues that may suggest they are unhappy. I am aware of safety and risk, and will seek to prevent risk before it occurs. In the event of an emergency I would seek support, communicate with owners and transport to the vet if necessary. I will complete dog walks in the dog's preferred walking location and structure the walk however this is usually done. I will find out from you whether your dog likes to interact with other dogs and any signs that signify your dog is unhappy or unwell. I do not let dogs interact with other dogs without checking with the other walker it is safe. I am aware of animals need for their own space and autonomy, so seek consent from animals to touch them and approach their space.

Information I will obtain prior to visiting or walking your pet:

• Pet profile - name, age, breed, gender
• Emergency contacts - owner, vet, nearest emergency clinic
• Health conditions or allergies
• Instructions for what you would like me to do - toilet schedule, feeding routine, play habits, medication, length of time, giving treats
• Your animal's behaviour and reactivity, any safety concerns
• Walking preferences - route, on or off lead, recall reliability, commands, interaction with other dogs, adults and children, equipment used
• Animals preferences regarding being touched and interacted with
• Home access
• Rules
• Expectations - updates, photos, length of walk, any training I should follow
• Emergency protocols if dog escapes, becomes ill or there are home issues
• Permission - Off lead permission, transport permission, medication permission

I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy to care for your beloved pets. I can offer visits and walks before 9am or after 5pm Monday-Friday, and any time between 8am and 8pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
