About Debbie
Loving, Experienced Animal Lover in Kingston Park 🐾❤️
Hi! I’m a friendly, caring and reliable animal lover based in Kingston Park, Newcastle.
Animals have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up surrounded by dogs, cats, rabbits and birds, and I’ve never really known life without a pet in the family.
Sadly, we lost our much-loved cat, Tyson, earlier this year at the grand old age of 18½. He was a huge part of our family, and this is the first time in my life that I’ve not had an animal of my own. Our home feels much quieter without him, and we really miss having a four-legged companion around.
My husband and our two children (15 and 13) are just as animal-mad as I am. They’ve grown up surrounded by animals, and as you can see from our photos, spending time with them has always been a big part of our family life.
We’d absolutely love a dog of our own, but unfortunately we’re not quite in a position to make that long-term commitment at the moment. That’s one of the reasons I’d love to help care for other people’s pets. It’s an opportunity to enjoy their company while offering owners a reliable, loving home away from home.
A little about me
I’m a nurse by profession and have recently started volunteering with The Cinnamon Trust, helping people who need extra support caring for their beloved pets.
I’ve been around dogs of different breeds, ages and sizes throughout my life, and I have many years of experience caring for cats and other small animals.
I love getting outdoors for walks and adventures, but I’m equally happy spending time playing, providing companionship or simply enjoying some cuddles on the sofa.
What I can offer 🐶🐱
I’m happy to offer:
* Dog walking: Lovely walks tailored to your dog’s age, energy levels and needs.
* Cat sitting: Visits to your home to provide food, fresh water, clean litter trays, playtime, cuddles and company.
* Doggy day care: Your dog can spend the day with us, enjoying walks, playtime, company and plenty of attention.
* Holiday boarding: I’m also happy to welcome your dog into our family home while you’re away, so they can enjoy their own little holiday!
Our home is currently pet-free, with a good-sized, fully enclosed private garden surrounded by six-foot fencing. There are no external garden gates, and access is directly through our house.
For day care and boarding, I’d prefer to look after just one dog at a time, or two dogs from the same household, so they receive plenty of individual attention.
Any dogs staying with us would be welcomed into our family home rather than kept in kennels.
My availability
I work shifts as a nurse, which means I can’t always commit to the same day every week. However, the benefit of shift work is that I often have flexibility during the week, including weekdays when other people may be at work.
I’m happy to discuss occasional walks, one-off bookings, day care and holiday stays around my shifts and family commitments.
I’ll always make sure I’m available to provide the care and attention your pet needs before accepting a booking.
Your pet’s happiness and safety come first ❤️
Having been a pet owner myself for so many years, I completely understand how much our animals mean to us. They’re not just pets; they’re part of the family.
I know how important it is to find someone you can trust, and I would always treat your pet with the same kindness, patience and affection I’d want for my own.
Every animal is different, and I’m happy to follow their usual routines, feeding arrangements, exercise needs and individual preferences.
I’m also more than happy to arrange a meet and greet beforehand and provide photos and updates while your pet is in my care.
For me, this is about doing something I genuinely enjoy while helping other animal lovers feel confident that their pets are happy, safe and well cared for.
I can’t wait to meet some new four-legged friends! 🐾❤️
