My name is Emily but most people call me Emmy! I'm an ex dog and cat groomer as well as a fully trained pet nutritionist thanks to my precious places of work. I am a huge animal lover and have owned pets since I was born as well as worked with pets since I was 18 and fresh out of college. I have been wanting to run my own "Pet Care" business for quite a time and have recently relocated to the Horsham area so it's perfect! Due to my previous jobs I can help out with brushing and minimal grooming such as detangling, baths and nail clipping and also can work around any special diets and medications if feeding your pets. I am also very well practised with disabled pets after rescuing and owning a Ragdoll with a birth defect myself in his twilight months. I am available to do dog walking and drop in visits for dogs, cats and also the smaller pets such as small furries and reptiles! I'm not as trained with birds so I won't be taking on bird requests. I am happy to add medications and supplements into food or water if you leave the amounts in a list for me. I am available most Morning's and Afternoon's but less so in the evenings apart from for drop in visits. My dog walks are based on a 30min rate and I usually charge +£5 for 60min rate. Doggy Daycare within my flat is only open to XS-S dogs as with it being a flat I don't have the space for larger breeds in my own home currently!

About me&nbsp;I have good experience of petsitting in Brighton- it's the best job in the world! I love going for walks, but going without a dog feels a bit strange.&nbsp;I adore canine company, and understand that dogs respond to calm, confidence and positivity. Your fur baby is safe with me: I’ll talk to them, play with them and always be clued-in to their needs and behaviour.&nbsp;As well as extensive pet care experience, I've done over a year's volunteering with dogs. This includes a shelter environment, where many had behavioural problems and needed special care. I have also been a volunteer at a dog hotel, where I helped to look after (and spoil!) around thirty guests. I also have good experience of walking reactive dogs.&nbsp;If I'm free, I'm happy to help at short notice.As well as overnight sits I can offer walking, drop in visits or sitting around my part time job.&nbsp;***Prices can be negotiated!****Canine First Aid qualified*&nbsp;What we'll do&nbsp;If your dog is nervous, I can distract them with some games, or simply be a reassuring presence that they can come to when they feel like it. (I once looked after a dog who was terrified of thunder, and during a loud storm I found that singing Johnny Cash calmed her right down.)If possible, we'll go on a nice long walk! Basically, I'll listen to your dog's needs- give them space if they like, provide cuddles, play games or do some training to engage them.Let me know about your dog's needs and behaviour: for example, what commands do they respond to? I have grown up around dogs, cats and horses and couldn’t imagine a four-legged friend not being in my life.&nbsp;
I used to work as a kennel hand and have lots of experience looking after other peoples animals. I am extremely effective at communicating with owners to ensure they are kept up to date with their pets well-being whilst they’re away.
I live with my husband, my 9 month old son and our two dogs in a 3 bedroom house with an enclosed back garden in Horley, Surrey. We have an 8 year old Sprocker called Peppa and a 3 year old Cockerpoo called Poppy. Our pets are allowed to roam around our home throughout the day and whilst I’m home. They have access to each of the rooms and their own beds in both the kitchen and the lounge. Overnight or if I go out we put our dogs in the kitchen using a stair gate so that they are kept away from our sons bedroom but if an owner has a specific requirement e.g. for their dog to sleep on the floor in our bedroom then we can certainly accommodate this. If the weather is nice the back door is kept open so the dogs can go in and out as they please and on really hot days we even get the paddling pool out for them! 
This is my full time job so if I do go out it is only ever for a few hours at a time. I will only have a maximum of two other dogs staying with me at any one time but I do allow an additional if it's a handover day or doggy day care. The dogs will often play with each other when they're with me, my Cockerpoo loves playing with others once she's had a day to get to know them and then there is no stopping her! I also play with them each day myself and give them some treat games to do once or twice a week. I have a variety of different mental stimulation games for them to try and if all else fails I have a licky mat which I can put doggy peanut butter on and that normally goes down a treat. I believe it is important for them to be kept not only physically active but also mentally too. If the dog I'm looking after is happy for me to I do try to groom them a few times a week in order for any knots to be kept at bay. 
There is a local field near us, around a 5 minute walk away, which is where I normally take the dogs for their walks. It also goes down by the river and through a wooded area which is lovely to take them to in the nicer weather. Additionally, I am a car owner and driver so I will often take the dogs out further a field to different places, we very much enjoy going to Earlswood Lake and Tilgate Park. It is down to the individual owners as to whether they are happy for their dog to be off lead with me or whether they would prefer me to put their dog on an extended lead for the walk, I am happy to facilitate either.
