"We'd had a hectic year and were looking forward to the summer holidays. However, the person who usually looks after our pets had started an apprenticeship, so wouldn't be able to help us.
Prices for someone to look after two dogs, two cats (one that needs medication) and a snake can be quite steep.
I decided to try Pawshake to find someone that would do homesitting, and after contacting a few people, Maria got back to me. We followed up with a visit and a booking.
Throughout our holidays, she sent me daily pictures of our pets, and even the most difficult ones warmed up to her, which is surprising, since they don't even get that close to me.
The dogs, especially, were very happy with Maria. They were given regular walks, cuddles and even got to watch the 2026 World Cup Final (which was a bit of a let down, to be honest, but they don't know that much about football, anyway).
Maria was great, she kept the house clean and washed the things she used during her final day. I felt much more comfortable with her than anything I had expected. She will definitely be on our minds next time we're planning some time away."

"I would highly recommend Alcmene. She was a great communicator both before and during dog sitting. She was very friendly, approachable, responsible and reliable. She connected well with our mini schnauzer and was kind and thoughtful. We felt confident that our dog was in good hands despite needing regular medication and having health issues. "

"Narmada was absolutely wonderful with our pets (3 cats and 1 dog), and we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter while we were away. From the very beginning, she was warm, caring and incredibly attentive to all of their individual needs and personalities.
Throughout the house sit, she kept us updated with regular messages, photos and little observations about how everyone was doing, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear that she wasn’t just following the care instructions; she was genuinely getting to know each of the pets and giving them plenty of individual attention, affection and reassurance. She noticed little things about their behaviour, remembered their routines, and was especially thoughtful about making sure all of them got extra love and attention while they were missing us.
She was also extremely responsible and proactive. Whenever anything unexpected came up (a feeder issue, a cat being sick, cleaning up a little vomit, the litter robot needing attention, or questions about their routine), she contacted us promptly and checked before doing anything she wasn't sure about. She was particularly observant about their behaviour and wellbeing, and made sure to send daily updates and pictures, along with descriptions of their interactions and little things she had noticed, which we really appreciated.
Our dog got plenty of long walks, the three cats were brushed and played with, and all of them received plenty of cuddles and attention. One of our cats, who normally isn't a fan of one-on-one attention, was actually actively seeking Narmada out for extra cuddles, which was a very welcome surprise.
Most importantly, the pets were clearly very happy and settled. By the time we came home, they looked fantastic, and we could tell from the photos and updates that they had been getting loads of love and attention. We were especially touched by how closely Narmada observed their personalities and how much she genuinely cared about them.
She was also respectful of our home, followed our instructions carefully, communicated clearly, and we felt completely at ease knowing our pets were with her.
Narmada went above and beyond, and we would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring and exceptionally attentive pet sitter. We would absolutely have her look after our pets again."

"Sonya and Trevor were absolutely wonderful dog sitters, and I couldn’t recommend them more highly. They took such loving care of my dog and gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. "Gabriel has been amazing! I recommend him without reservation.
He took the time to understand our two dogs routine. He went above and beyond, keeping us updated with daily photos and messages. We felt completely at ease and will definitely be booking again. He sent lots of updates about my two dogs.
I had a complete nightmare trying to get back from holiday and was delayed by over 24 hours. Gabriel was a godsend and went out of his way to help us.
We arrived home to a tidy house and two very happy dogs.
Gabriel is by far the best dog sitter we have used and I don't think he can be improved upon!
