I completed city and guilds animal care level 1 last year and am currently completing level 2. I have completed work experience at a kennels, cattery where I looked after and walked dogs and cats. I have also grown up with animals and cared for extended families and friends pets.
In addition, I am currently studying animal care level 2 at college so times will have to work around my college hours of 9:30am-5pm Monday and friday 8am-1pm Tuesday and Thursday.

I aim to always be careful and observant of the animals behaviour and respect their boundaries and limits. When walking a dog, I will always walk on a lead. If the individual can go off lead, I will build the relationship first and assess the situation as to if its safe and appropriate to let off the lead. If I am checking on an animal in its home, I will always respect their space and let them come to me. I am also very patient and calm with the animals and am able to work with nervous and reactive animals and working to build a rapport in what ever way works best for the individual.

My dog walks are tailored to the individual and what their needs, this would be discussed with the owner before the walk with typical walks being around 1-2 hours. I am able to do 3 walks or drop in visits a day currently but I am willing to talk about that to see what works best for your dog with times and amounts. I do not currently have pets stay over at mine as I dont have the facilities but I will drop in and visit your pets during holidays.

I will always talk with the owner in length about the individual animal and its behaviours, routines and needs before thinking about meeting the animal. I believe this is important so I can get to know what the individual is like before I interact for safety and stress relief. During sessions, I will send multiple pictures of your animal to keep peace of mind with the owner.

During my animal care studies, I learnt basic animal first aid and CPR but if there were to be any unfortunate emergencies, I would immediately call the local vet and contact the owner. If transport to the vet is needed, I cannot drive so I would have to walk, take the bus or taxi but I will do whatever I can to get the animal help as soon as possible. Aswell as this, when walking dogs, I will always carry a slip lead with me so I have an extra way to control the dog I'm walking or any other dogs if it came to it.

At the time of creating this profile, I do a weekly walk with a male, adult toy poodle and often but irregularly walk a male adolencent spaniel, male adolecent labrador, male juvenile cockpoo, male adolecent and adult cavapoos.

As an example of a visit I do, when I visit the cavapoos, I visit them for around an hour where I redo water bowls and let them outside in their garden, giving them attention and fuss aswell as playing with them and getting out there energy (of course giving a few treats aswell).

I am willing to work with most animals and have experience with dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, chinchillas, degus, hamsters, mice, rats and a range of reptiles and invertebrates.
