I love animals and need to get my 'fix' by looking after them as don't have one of my own. I have previously 'owned' (I use the word loosely) two cats and have been a trusted dogsitter to the point one pet parent invited me to look after their two West Highland Terriers in their house in the South of France. As well as providing play and affection (and boundaries if your canine companion requires it), I'm also confident providing your cat or dog with medications. 

Gaining your pet's trust and bonding with them is a very rewarding part of the job. Because I send daily updates / videos etc. so pet owners can see how their pet is behaving I've become a trusted sitter and am often asked back. Examples of sits include caring for three cats in Hackbridge, four cats in Cricklewood, a 10-month house-sitting stint for homeowners in the village of Bellingdon, Buckinghamshire, with a very large section to maintain, plus doing multiple sits of a rescue cat in Chiswick. Looking after and providing pets with affection is rewarding and a responsibility I take very seriously. I am comfortable giving injections or tablets to animals, having done so during numerous pet sits (e.g. for diabetic cats, elderly arthritic dogs etc.).

A variety of cats have been cared for including nervous rescue cats, pure breeds (including Persians requiring daily combing), a diabetic ginger needing twice-daily injections etc., all while providing food, grooming, attention, play, and affection. It is rewarding when cats learn to trust me. let their guard down, and jump onto my lap (or settle nearby if not a 'lap cat'). 

Dogs instinctively respond very positively and want to engage with me. I am gentle-natured and animals, including dogs, can generally sense I am not a threat. I love connecting with dogs, taking them for walks, helping them let off steam, playing with them, and bonding. It's rewarding to gain theirs - or any animal's - trust and affection. Dogs' energy, inherently loving nature, and unrelenting optimism is infectious. As well as the Westies, breeds I've cared for include Cavapoos, very elderly mini-greyhounds, Havanese, Chihuahua, miniature poodle and mixed breeds. Please note I am only available to look after small to midsize dogs.
