I’m Reece - a very caring but firm pet sitter with a strong understanding of animal behaviour, especially cats & dogs.

I’ve had cats of my own for around 20 years & have a lot of experience understanding feline behaviour. I’ve also cared for & worked with many different dogs through family, friends, licensed breeders & kennel/farm work.

I’ve been around everything from large, powerful breeds such as Kangals, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Huskies & other Shepherds, to smaller dogs including French Bulldogs, Dachshunds, Yorkshire Terriers & Chihuahuas. I’m comfortable with dogs of very different sizes, energy levels & temperaments.

I have a good understanding of dog behaviour & training, particularly around walks, boundaries & correcting unwanted behaviour. I prefer to understand why a dog is behaving a certain way & work from there.

I’m also relatively active, so I’m not a sit-on-the-bench-and-watch-the-dog type! 🦮 Depending on the dog, I can do anything from a 10–15 minute walk to an hour-long session, with longer park routes where appropriate. I enjoy fetch, catch, frisbee & other games to keep dogs moving & engaged, while adapting to their individual needs.

I live with my parents, who I help care for, in a 3-bedroom, 2-floor corner house. We have a relatively small garden, suitable for cats & smaller dogs, while larger dogs can have indoor & outdoor time depending on their needs. I’m easy-going about pets being in the home as long as we establish sensible boundaries — happy to have a dog on the sofa, just preferably not eating it! 😂

I’m also a first aider. While I don’t have direct veterinary experience, I’ve worked around people in veterinary care, as well as groomers & trainers. If I notice anything concerning, I’ll contact the owner promptly, follow their instructions & make sure any further care needed is dealt with appropriately.

I’m also happy to care for hamsters & other suitable small animals. If your pet has specific needs, mention them in your enquiry & we can discuss what’s required.
