About Laura
🐾 About Us
My partner Kevin and I began pet sitting when we moved to Chafford Hundred in 2024 and have taken care of over 100 furbabies since! I previously worked as a primary school teacher and now dedicate my time to caring for animals full time. We provide boarding and daycare for dogs in our home and I offer drop-ins, walks and daytime housesitting for dogs, cats and other animals in your home :)
⭐️ What Sets Us Apart
We are fully insured, DBS-checked and qualified! We hold an Ofqual certification in Canine Care, Behaviour and Animal Welfare at Level 3. We are also star sitters on Rover with over 120 5-star reviews! We are experienced with dogs of all sizes, from puppies to seniors, and are equipped to handle a variety of medical and behavioural issues. I am also experienced in administering medication for cats and have cared for indoor and outdoor cats from kittens to super seniors (including my own beloved kitty who lived to 18 years old). Above all, we are sitters who genuinely love the animals that we care for and will do everything that we can to make them feel at home. You can always expect prompt replies and regular updates with photos and videos of what they're getting up to!
🏡 Doggy Boarding & Daycare
We offer a home away from home for your furry friend. When we leave the house, we usually take the doggies with us, and for overnight stays they are either with us or in their own room monitored via our pet cams. We walk each dog for a minimum of 40 minutes every day (twice for boarding) and take them to a new place each time, while meeting all of their feeding, playing and cuddling needs! We record daily observations of your dog and supervise socialisation with other like-minded dogs. Daycare is £35 for up to 10 hours of care (£40 during holiday periods). Boarding is £40 per 24-hour period (£45 during holiday periods). We offer a £15 daily discount on a second dog from the same family. We are flexible if you need to book early drop-off or late evening pickup times and can provide our own secure transportation for boarding at an additional cost.
🔑 Drop-ins, Walks & Daytime Housesitting
While Kevin looks after our own dogs at home, I offer drop-ins, walks and daytime housesitting for all animals in their homes. My personal animals growing up were a German Shepherd, a moggy and two guinea pigs, so I'm comfortable with dogs, cats and small furries! I would love to spend time with more animals, and if I haven't cared for your type of pet before, I will take the time to learn everything needed to provide them with the best care possible. I have experience in multi-pet households, supporting animals with complex needs, administering oral and injectable medications, daily grooming and monitoring for signs of ill health. I am also happy to keep your house clean and tidy and water any plants while you're away. I send regular updates with photos and videos of what your furry friends are getting up to, and triple-check that your home is secure before leaving.
🗓️ Our Availability For Boarding & Daycare
We are available every day for doggy daycare and long-stay dog boarding (unless we are fully booked!). We are usually available between 7am and 9pm, but cater for early drop-offs and late pickups at the time of booking. For our returning doggies, we often have more availability and can help out last-minute with additional requests. Please check our calendar to see our upcoming availability and feel free to send us any requests that you might have :)
📆 My Drop-In & Housesitting Availability
I am available for home visits every day, unless I am fully booked. My calendar is always up-to-date, so please see my upcoming availability and feel free to get in touch! Please note that I cycle to drop-in visits, so can only cater to pets in Thurrock, and operate on a reduced schedule during high temperatures. I cover a wider area for my housesitting service, as my partner is able to drop me off and pick me up, Friday to Monday, daytime only.
🏠 Our Home
We live in a detached three-bedroom house with a large, bright and sunny fully fenced garden in a beautiful green area in Chafford Hundred. We are lucky enough to be right next to Chafford Gorges Nature Reserve where we walk the dogs in our care regularly. We love visiting our very many local parks and surrounding dog-friendly spaces, including wide-open fields and forests only a short walk away. We do not have children, so our home environment is calm and focused on the dogs in our care. Dogs are welcome on the sofa and beds if that's what they're used to at home. We only ever crate dogs if part of their usual routine, and if we are boarding dogs from different families, each will have their own room to sleep in. Dogs are always fed separately and supervised when interacting with other dogs for maximum safety. Between sits, we clean our house thoroughly for our next doggy guests. We are also a 5-minute walk from our local Medivet for peace of mind!
🥎 What We Provide
We have ensured that every room in our house is dog-friendly and set up for playtime and comfort. We have everything from different-sized dog beds, blankets and cooling mats to air conditioning for the dogs in our care. We provide all of the essentials (aside from your dog's usual food) including: toys for different play styles, enrichment puzzles, kongs and licki mats, bowls & travel bottles, towels, poo bags & puppy pads and a wide range of healthy, natural treats. We keep spare leads of all types, "I'm staying with my sitter" ID tags with our details on them and wearable nightlights while your dog is staying with us for extra security. We have daily grooming supplies, from deodorising shampoos and wipes to brushes for different fur types. We also keep a doggy first-aid kit for all kinds of ear, eye, skin, paw and digestion concerns. Your dog will be kept secure with a safety gate at the front door and will be supervised by both us and our pet cameras. Should we have permission to take your dog on an outing, they will be secured in our car with a doggy seatbelt. We also have a water fountain and all dogs have access to fresh, filtered drinking water throughout the day, as well as an air purifier to help dogs with seasonal allergies. We have thought about as many things as possible to ensure that your dog is given top-quality care.
🐶 Our Dogs & Our Intake Policy
We live with our two Pomsky girls, Nala and Willow, who we adopted from a rescue in August 2025. Our girls are experienced doggy playmates. At four years old, they are relaxed around other dogs. They enjoy cuddling on the sofa with their friends and playing in the garden if invited! We house up to 4 guest dogs at a time (unless two are from the same family). For the safety of all of our dogs, we are unable to accept dogs who display aggression or are uncomfortable with us handling them. We generally accept only neutered males (unless they are puppies or returning doggies!) but we accept unspayed females out of season. Dogs who repeatedly mark during their meet & greet may not be suitable for boarding with us. We are unable to accept dogs who persistently hump or bother other dogs at this time. All dogs must be comfortable with being left alone for up to 1 hour (in a camera-supervised, secure room without other dogs or in their own crate) in order for us to walk other dogs while they are with us.
🏥 We also require that the animals in our care are vaccinated and up to date with their flea and worming treatments.
🦴 What We Get Up To During The Day
Every stay is different! We ask for your dog's daily routine to cater to their needs the way you do at home. We offer a variety of enrichment activities during the day, from personalised playtime to freezing or baking doggy treats! We get the paddling pool and splash mat out in warm weather, go on outings to the pet shop and even watch doggy tv with our guests! For our higher-energy doggies, we go on longer and off-lead walks, and spend time brushing and cuddling our seniors. We occasionally hire a secure field for the dogs to run together and play freely in. We also love photography, and take lots of photos and videos of them in action. We sometimes take them on dog-friendly outings, meet up with our friends with dogs and find dog-friendly cafés too!
🐈 Cat-specific Care
I am fully insured and have cared for both indoor and outdoor cats of all ages, from playful kittens to super seniors - including my own beloved cat who lived to 18 years old. I'm experienced in administering oral and injectable medications, having looked after cats with thyroid disease and diabetes. I also have experience in multi-cat households caring for cats with complex needs. I genuinely love the cats that I take care of (whether they are shy, or spicy!) and treat them as if they were my own. From feeding and watering to cleaning litter trays and administering medications, I will ensure that all of your furry friend's needs are met with love and care. Whether they enjoy playing with cat wands, rolling in catnip, munching on cat grass or chasing lasers, I will spend time getting to know their little personalities. I especially love sending photos and videos of them to you and most importantly, giving them lots of cuddles while you're away!
📆 Our Booking Process
After you send us a booking request, we arrange a meet & greet to get to know your pet! Meet & greets for daycare and boarding take place at our house, so that we can see how your dog responds to the environment and our other dogs, and you can see where they will be staying. (For home visits, I meet you in your animal's environment and send you a care form specific to housesitting.)
After the meet & greet, we send you our Google Form to provide us with everything we need to know to care for your dog. This includes questions such as:
• Is your dog neutered/spayed?
• Do they have any medical conditions or allergies?
• What is their feeding, walking, medication, toileting and sleep routine?
• Does your dog have any known behavioural issues?
• How does your dog respond to other dogs?
On our Google Form, we also request your contact details (should we be unable to reach you on Pawshake), an emergency contact, as well as your consent to take your dog to the vet should they show signs of being unwell. You can also opt in or out of off-lead walking.
🧸 For stays longer than 3 nights, we encourage booking in a trial day prior to boarding to help your dog settle in.
We'd love to meet you and your furry friend, so feel free to send us a message if you have any questions or would like to arrange a meet & greet!
