Hi, I’m Rachel, a genuine animal lover with lots of hands-on experience caring for dogs in a home environment. I understand that leaving your dog with someone else can be worrying, so my aim is to provide a safe, calm and loving home-from-home where your dog can feel comfortable, settled and well cared for.

I take the time to get to know every dog individually and will follow their normal routine as closely as possible. Before their stay, I’ll ask about their feeding routine, exercise requirements, personality, likes and dislikes, sleeping arrangements and anything else that helps them feel at home. I’m also happy to give medication in tablet form when required, following your instructions carefully.

Walks & exercise

Walks are tailored to each individual dog and can be between 20–60 minutes, depending on their age, breed, fitness, energy levels and usual routine. Dogs are walked locally at the nearby park, with their safety and comfort always being the priority. I won’t expect an older or less active dog to exercise like a young, energetic dog.

Constant supervision

One of the things I feel really sets my care apart is that your dog will never be left home alone. There are two adults in the household and we make sure that at least one adult is always with the dogs. This means your dog has company, supervision and someone available to respond to their needs throughout their stay.

I accept a limited number of dogs at one time so that I can give every dog the individual attention they deserve. I will always discuss your dog’s needs and temperament with you before confirming a booking to make sure they are comfortable and suited to our home environment.

Overnight stays

Dogs staying overnight remain inside our home and have a comfortable, secure sleeping arrangement. I’m happy to discuss their normal sleeping routine with you beforehand and, wherever practical, keep things familiar for them.

Emergencies

Your dog’s safety and wellbeing are extremely important to me. I’ll always ask for your emergency contact details, veterinary information and any relevant medical instructions before their stay. If your dog became unwell or was involved in an emergency, I would contact you as soon as possible and follow your instructions. If urgent veterinary treatment was needed and I was unable to reach you, I would seek appropriate veterinary care without unnecessary delay and keep you updated.

I know that your dog isn’t simply a pet — they’re part of your family. My commitment is to care for them with the same patience, kindness and attention I would want for my own dog, while giving you peace of mind that they are safe, supervised and being well looked after while you’re away.
