Ever wondered where your dog would go if you let them lead a walk? What about if they have a hidden aptitude for solving puzzles or playing hide-and-seek? I specialise in making sure that your dog doesn't just get the exercise they need, but has a fun and enriching experience whether I'm working as a sitter or a walker. If you're on vacation, your dog deserves a vacation too! I have experience working with large breeds, high-energy working dogs, dogs with behavioural needs and medical needs, and (lots of!) cute and furry family pets. With every dog I work with you and with them to figure out what they want to do on their walks or while petsitting, and do that with them! With some dogs we find all-new walking routes and go for adventures together, and with others we stick to your neighbourhood routine and play exciting enrichment games or work on new tricks. And if it's a couch potato party of two that floats your dog's boat, bring on the Netflix and cuddles! Whatever your dog wants and needs, I will make sure they get it and have a great time. I am also a keen hiker and runner, so if your dog could use a major energy burn-off midday I would love to take them for a walk or run on the beach,down Lade Braes, or around town. I'm comfortable and experienced running with larger dogs (see photos for a pair of labradors that clearly missed their calling as sled dogs!), and equally happy to adapt pace and distance to suit little legs. If a more sedate pace suits your pup, a slow and steady meander is just as fun :). A quick note: I love an off-leash adventure as much as the next person, but your pup's safety is my top priority. For more independant-minded dogs (I had a Basset Hound for 10 years - I get it!:) or dogs that aren't sure about recalling to a new person, I am more than happy to provide a 40ft leash for beach time and other fun.
