About me and my experience:

I’ve been surrounded by dogs and cats since the day I was born, and I miss the daily companionship they provide. As a Kiwi living abroad, pet sitting has become my favorite way to feel at home. I’ve cared for pets of all ages, temperaments, and sizes, from energetic vizslas and border collies to gentle Bernese mountain dogs.

I work a flexible, part-time remote schedule, which means your pet will rarely, if ever, be left alone. My home is a maisonette house with a large fenced garden and is very close to Wandsworth and Wimbledon parks. Because I work from home, I provide constant supervision throughout the day. I treat my guest pets like I would a family member, they'd usually curl up right next to my desk while I work!

My typical day with a pet:

A high-energy morning walk (typically 60+ minutes), then throughout the day some indoor time (or time in the garden) while I work, punctuated by garden breaks, play, and mental stimulation (especially for active breeds like border collies which I am very familiar with). Then in the evening a wind-down walk and plenty of sofa or bed cuddles. Pets are welcome to sleep in my bedroom (on their own bed or mine, depending on your preference) so I can keep an ear out for them during the night.

My home is "pet-proofed," and I am hyper-vigilant about secure doors and lead-safety during walks. Having dealt with dogs with medical issues and injuries in the past, I stay calm under pressure and am comfortable administering medication or responding to unexpected health needs. I use positive reinforcement (treats and praise) to reward good behavior and am happy to maintain any specific training or corrections you are currently working on. Whether your dog needs a 5-mile run or a quiet day of naps, I can adapt my routine to fit their unique personality.
