About Leah
Hi, I’m Leah!
I’ve been surrounded by animals for as long as I can remember, and caring for pets has always been a huge part of my life. My love of animals really began with my grandparents’ dogs, Millie and Peggy, who gave me my first taste of pet ownership and the joy that comes with building a bond with a dog.
My first pets were two tortoises, Herbie and Trot, who taught me the importance of patience, routine, and daily care. Over the years, I’ve also kept numerous breeds of tropical fish, and I currently have my own aquarium, where I’ve recently enjoyed raising newborn platy fry – a rewarding experience that requires careful attention and consistency.
When I was nine years old, my family welcomed Jazz, our wonderful beagle, who became my best friend and constant companion until she sadly passed away at the age of 15. Growing up with Jazz taught me so much about caring for dogs. I helped with daily walks, feeding, playtime, grooming, and making sure she was happy and healthy. Spending those years with her gave me a real understanding of the commitment, patience, and love that dogs need.
More recently, the newest four-legged member of the family is Cookie, an adorable Cavapoo, who has reminded me just how much fun (and energy!) puppies bring. Watching Cookie grow has given me experience with younger dogs, their routines, basic training, socialisation, and all the excitement that comes with helping a puppy learn and grow.
Alongside caring for my own pets, I’ve also regularly looked after dogs for family and friends. From energetic dogs who love long adventures to older companions who enjoy a slower pace and plenty of cuddles, I’m confident adapting to each pet’s individual personality and routine.
I’m naturally an active person and enjoy getting outdoors every day. Living close to Clapham Common and Brockwell Park means your dog will have access to fantastic open spaces for stimulating walks, games, and plenty of opportunities to explore. I also have access to a small garden, giving dogs a safe outdoor space to stretch their legs and relax between walks.
I understand how important routine is for pets, so I’ll always do my best to stick to your dog’s normal schedule. Whether that’s early morning walks, feeding at specific times, administering simple medications, maintaining training routines, or making sure they have their favourite toy or a cosy spot to nap, I’ll make every effort to help them feel settled and secure. I’m equally happy spending time playing, providing enrichment activities, or simply keeping them company if they’re happiest with a quiet cuddle on the sofa.
As someone who works professionally and values organisation, I’m reliable, responsible, and attentive to detail. I’ll always communicate clearly, send regular updates and photos, and make sure you feel reassured that your pet is happy, safe, and enjoying their time with me.
I’d love the opportunity to care for your pet and provide them with a genuine home-from-home experience. I know that trusting someone with your pet is a big decision because they’re part of the family. My aim is to provide a safe, caring, and loving environment where they’ll receive plenty of attention, affection, and exercise. I’ll treat every pet as if they were my own, so you can relax knowing they’re in kind, capable hands.
