I've cared for many kinds of animals — dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, even reptiles — which has taught me how to adapt to each pet's unique needs and personality. But what I'm really good at is winning over the pets other sitters struggle with.

I do this by observing behavior patterns closely and figuring out the real intention behind a pet's anxious reactions — not just reacting to the anxiety itself. A couple of examples:

• Moses (my housemate's dog, who I lived with for a year in Australia) has anxious attachment and a tendency to bite. Most people who don't know him keep their distance. I realized he was simply being protective of his space and his owner — so I kept my movements small and slow around them both, and we got along great.
• Black Bean (a friend's cat) would hiss at me even when he was the one approaching out of curiosity. He wasn't aggressive, just shy around strangers — so I stayed calm and let him set the pace, and he came around.

That's the approach I bring to every pet: patience first, and enough attention to tell the difference between a scared reaction and an aggressive one.

I'm naturally gentle, easygoing, and detail-oriented, and I pay close attention to small signals — a flick of an ear, a change in appetite — that tell me when a pet isn't feeling quite right.


Beyond behavior, I'm also experienced with hands-on care and special requests, following owners' instructions:

• Cooked homemade meals for a dog with an upset stomach, following the owner's requested recipe
• Administered injections to an elderly cat, after the owner walked me through the process
• Syringe-fed baby birds and older lizards that couldn't eat on their own
• Helped a gecko safely shed skin that wouldn't come off naturally, using damp swabs

I'm based in London with a flexible schedule, so I can work around your pet's routine. I also have housekeeping experience from my time in Australia, so I can keep your home clean and tidy while you're away, and I'm happy to water plants too. I take this responsibility seriously and care for every animal as if it were my own — if your pet is anxious, reactive, or just needs extra time to warm up, I won't rush them. I'll take the time to earn their trust, the way I did with Moses and Black Bean. You can leave your furry (or scaly) friend with me with total peace of mind.
