My journey of loving and caring for animals started from my home in India, where my grandmother would feed the stray dogs (and cows) that gathered outside. Little did I know then, these small daily rituals would shape me into the passionate vegan and animal rights activist I am today. It was then that Rustom, a little munchkin German Shepherd, entered into my life, travelling all the way from Rajasthan aboard a train. As I took him for walks in the neighbourhood, I started noticing the struggles of our community animals. These animals had no one to rely upon for food and basic necessities, and the situation had been worsened by the pandemic. I began to look after these stray animals, feeding them, tending to their medical needs and giving them the care they needed. I also founded an animal welfare chapter in my university to look after university cats and dogs, which now has 200+ dedicated volunteers working for the welfare of animals. I have lived in London for the past 5 years, and whilst I am so grateful for being where I always dreamt of, I have always felt this emptiness in my heart as I miss caring for all the dogs back home. Through Dog Walking and Pet Sitting, I aim to reconnect with my passion for caring after animals and giving them the love they each deserve. I am also DBS checked, fully insured and first aid-trained for dogs. I provide dog walking (30 min -60 min), drop-in visits and pet sitting in the pet's own home. I am comfortable with dogs and cats of all sizes. Before each booking, I make sure I understand the pet's routine, including feeding, walks, medication and any other needs during the meet and greet. Every pet is different, so I try to stick to their usual routine as much as possible. For dogs, that could mean walks, playtime and plenty of company. For cats, I'll make sure they're fed, their litter tray is clean, and they get the attention they're comfortable with. I enjoy getting to know each pet's personality. Some like to play, others prefer a quieter day. Whatever they enjoy, I'll make sure they have a pawsitively good time and that their owners receive regular updates, photos and messages.
