About Sophie
Hi there! I’m Sophie, and I’ve lived in the Loughborough Junction area for over 27 years. I've been a cat sitter since 2018 working through other platforms or for myself and have only just recently joined Pawshake (May 2026).
Cats have always been a huge part of my life. I currently share my home with Monty — an 18‑year‑old Battersea boy who still thinks he's a kitten — and Raisin, a timid six‑year‑old rescue from Cats Protection. As a lifelong cat owner, a Cats Protection volunteer, and someone who has supported cats with a wide range of health needs, I truly understand what our feline friends need to feel safe, comfortable, and loved.
I’m trained in cat handling and post‑operative care, and I also volunteer as a Paws to Listen listener, supporting people through pet‑related grief. Most of what I earn from cat sitting goes straight back to Cats Protection, with just a small amount kept to cover travel costs.
I’m always happy to arrange a free meet & greet so we can get to know each other — and so I can learn all about your cat’s routine, quirks, and preferences. During visits, I provide fresh food and water, clean bowls and litter trays, administer medication if needed, and spend quality time with your cat. That might be cuddles, playtime, or simply quiet companionship, depending on what they enjoy. You’ll also receive daily photos and videos so you can relax knowing your kitty is happy and well cared for.
I cover my local area and can walk or drive to most homes. In some cases, parking restrictions may affect my ability to take a booking, but I’m always happy to discuss this if it comes up. I offer flexible visit times and can accommodate as many daily visits as your cat needs — we’ll finalise the exact schedule together when your booking request is made.
I will always treat your home with the same care and respect as my own, keeping everything secure and following any instructions you provide. I’m also happy to water plants, take bins out, and bring in post or parcels. I can administer most cat medications, although this may depend on the cat’s temperament.
I always carry a few toys with me (a laser pointer is the current favourite!) and often have treats on hand. While my main responsibilities are feeding, refreshing water, and keeping litter trays clean, I always make time to play and socialise with your cat — as long as they’re comfortable with it.
Before any booking, I’ll ask about any special requirements your cat may have around petting, grooming, or medication, so I can provide consistent, personalised care that suits them perfectly.
