I am deeply passionate about animal welfare and dedicated to providing high-quality, attentive care for small animals, with a particular focus on rodents and rabbits, although I have plenty of experience with cat care too. I understand that these pets have unique needs, and I take pride in offering care that is both compassionate and based on up-to-date information on best care practices. I have hands-on experience administering medication, health checking, supporting elderly animals, and creating enrichment that promote natural behaviours. My experience with animals includes farms, rescues, private pet sitting, work experience in a vet clinic, kennels, catteries, and exotic animal husbandry.

My approach is calm and detail-oriented, ensuring each animal feels safe and comfortable in my care, as well as employing high levels of cleanliness and hygiene. As a rat owner myself, I have a personal understanding of the level of attention, enrichment, and gentle handling that small animals require. I am committed to continuously learning and refining my knowledge, keeping up to date with best practices in small animal care. I aim to provide a reliable service that prioritises the health and wellbeing of any animal I look after.

I offer home visits only. Home visits will typically last 30 minutes. If a pet becomes unwell while in my care, I will contact the owner immediately to inform them and discuss the next steps. I will follow any prior instructions provided regarding veterinary care and preferred practices.

If veterinary attention is required, I will take the pet to their registered vet where possible, or the nearest suitable veterinary practice if necessary. In the event of an emergency where I am unable to reach the owner, I will act in the animal’s best interests and seek urgent veterinary treatment without delay.

I will keep the owner updated throughout and ensure the pet is kept as comfortable and stress-free as possible. Any instructions regarding medication, ongoing conditions, or care requirements will always be followed carefully.
