I am a full-time student at UCD (I'm studying to become a librarian), and I'm looking to get a few pet-sitting/dog-walking jobs for some extra pocket money and so I can spend time with animals, which is always lovely! I have no pets of my own at the moment. I've had cats in the past, but I do also really love dogs - I am currently minding a beautiful, rambunctious Irish red setter. My last cat, Merlin,  was spoiled rotten and basically owned the house! Ideally, I'd love to have a cat and dog of my own one day, maybe a few fish too.
As I am a full-time student, pet-sitting is an excellent option for me. If I mind your pet, they are guaranteed to have my full-attention and love.&nbsp;
I won't have pets in my own home ( it's a rented property) but I can mind pets in other people's homes for short and long term duration. I do need pets to have been vaccinated (eg, no feral cats).&nbsp;
I can walk pets, feed them etc, that's no problem. I am happy to water plants and perform necessary/urgent household tasks. I do need to know if there is more than one pet or if your pet has health issues so I can modify how I mind them :) I'd preferably find some pet minding jobs in my neighbourhood or in the UCD area. However, as I cycle everywhere, I'm happy to cycle a little further afield.&nbsp;


I am a student veterinary nurse who loves animals and is looking for opportunities to 1. get all the experience I can with different animals and 2. support myself through my studies. I have lots of experience handling animals of all sizes and breeds from my current full time work in a vets practice. I currently have a 10 year old cat who I’ve had since he was a kitten, but also grew up with a border collie dog and 2 other cats. I spent last year travelling around Australia where I was part of a similar pet sitting app, and looked after many animals in exchange for somewhere to stay. This experience made me fall in love with being able to connect with owners and pets, and some of my best memories from traveling surround this. My strengths are definitely having a lot of knowledge about animals and how to care for them, from my studies, but also having great communication with owners about their pets. I can provide references for previous house/pet sitters who can attest to my experience.

I am free on weekends and typically all day on Wednesdays. However, sometimes I work from home every couple of weeks where I'd be available Mondays and Fridays too. 
I offer dog walking, drop in visits to your home and dog sitting in your home. I unfortunately don't host any animals at my home due to my own pet who wouldn't tolerate any other animals. When dog/house sitting for you, I can provide full time care to your pet and they will not be left home alone at any point. For drop in visits to your home, I am open to discussing how long I'd be visiting for, coming to arrangements that both parties and your pet!

**Mariel and Douglas pet love profile**
We are a couple that love all kind of animals. We have three lovely cats that came all the way from Brazil to live with us in Glasgow. The oldest is 5 years old and the youngest has 1 year.&nbsp;
We did some catsitting back in Brazil for friends and family. Mariel had some experience with birds and owls. We've learned a lot about cats so we are usually pretty welcomed by them (even the shy ones). We have experience with anxious cats as our younger was rescued from the streets and was really frightened of humans before trusting us. Mainly they just need their own time to get things going. 
**About the visits**
Our visits take at least 30 minutes and we clean the litter box, change the pots of water and feed them. After they finish eating we pet and play until they get enough of us! We are currently not offering two visit a day but we can arrange a part-time visit in which we stay a couple of hours at your place. We are more than pleased to send you as many pictures and videos as you want.&nbsp;
Douglas knows a few training techniques. Mariel can administer oral medications and trim cats' nails.

We live in the Glasgow G5 area with our housecat Gordon. Our long term goal as a couple is to open a cattery of our own, and Courtney is hoping to study to become a feline behaviourist. I have always been an animal lover, having grown up with dogs all my life and having worked at a refuge for cats and dogs in Greece run by my uncle. I have a natural affinity with animals and am very patient and caring. Having lifelong experience of looking after dogs, I am able to keep control of them during walks without resorting to shouting, and am very aware of the specific needs of different types of dog, whether that be lengths of walks or quantities of food. I have also looked after friends' cats while they've been away, and love to play with them and keep them company!
