About Shannon
Hi everyone 😊 my name is Shannon and I'm studying Ancient History at the University of Bristol. I'm in my last year and I'm hoping to pursue archaeology. I have grown up with dogs, 4 to be exact, and I have two at home in Devon now with my parents (Pippa the mini daschund and Rocko the jug). Don't worry, they aren't in my flat right now - I'm not allowed anyway:(
Before proceeding, this year I will not be available very much, nor very frequently, as I am in my last year of university and I am also working part-time. This means I am not going to be doing much else, so will only be doing the odd shift, so if you wanted someone repeat and available, I may not be the best :( Sorry xxx
I am DBS checked as I volunteer with two organisations:)
I have no preferences on animals, size or age, I just cannot have any dogs in my student apartment in Clifton, as my landlord wouldn't be very happy (even if he did see how cute they are). I'd have to come to you, but at least then your dogs wouldn't feel out of place - they can show me around:)
With home visits, the duration online says 30mins - 1 hour and so this is what I will be expecting; it covers up to 2 hours with the one home visit. Therefore, if you book this, I will be available for one home visit of up to 2 hours:)
Two home visits can be up to 5 hours that I will stay 😄 any longer and message me!
Just message me regarding any questions or durations you'd like me to stay/do and with any specific requests! Please message me beforehand before booking as times will vary day-to-day when I am available due to my university course.
I class my dogs as my everything; throughout secondary and A-levels, while my parents were at work, I trained them and looked after them, so much so my parents rely on me throughout the year to do so (even though I'm doing my degree). It just isn't feasible for me to travel to Devon all the time, so I thought why not combine my love for dogs with earning some part-time money? It means I will enjoy what I'm doing and give the most I can! To me this is an ideal dream job - if I could make a living out of this I would; when I get my own apartment (and don't live in Student accommodation, I want to rescue at least two dogs). I miss my dogs so much, I don't feel complete without a furry friend in my life and so if this is the closest thing at the moment to having my own, I will guard your animal with my life.
I have been paid to look after family-friends dogs before and house sit at the same time. I even did a 2-week house/dog sit last summer for my friends and their labradoodle Archie. I would love to be able to spend a day with a dog, even a few days, and I'm open to house-sitting at the same time too! That way I can go on walks to get fresh air with your best friend, cuddle lots (or not, if they just like the company) and also get on with my own thing so they don't feel alone.
I have set the limit to two dogs as I feel confident looking after 2, as I have them at home and I'm used to walking two/giving my undivided attention to them!
You may see I'm new! That doesn't mean I won't give your babies any less love. I love dogs with all my heart, and I miss mine enormously, so rest assured I'll be taking good care of them!
I am happy to stay overnight in the dog parent's home and look after them, and I will be able to walk two dogs at a time, but no more - I want to be able to concentrate on them💖
You'll see that my green days are less than my red; I live in a student flat in Clifton, so I'm completing my BA at the same time. It's not as challenging as a STEM degree, hence why I'd love to earn some money while doing something I love on the side.
Since I am 20 (nearly 21) and have lived at university, I am definitely reliable and know how to look after myself/cook for myself and keep the house tidy- I'm a bit of a neat freak and like things clean. However, that doesn't mean I'm opposed to getting muddy on a long walk. I love long walks and exploring new places. I can't wait to meet you all 🐾
If you have any questions whatsoever, message me and I'll be happy to answer them! I'm a typical 20-year-old and have my phone on my 24/7, so I'll answer very quickly🥰
