About Carol
I’m a 53-year-old grandmother who still has plenty of energy and enthusiasm for life! I was raised on a free-range chicken farm, so animals have always been a huge part of my world. Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to share my life with many wonderful pets, including cats, dogs, ferrets, a donkey, rabbits, hamsters and guinea pigs.
Like many people, I’ve experienced anxiety, and throughout those times my pets have been my greatest comfort. They have listened without judgement, offered unconditional love, and reminded me to appreciate life’s simple joys. That special bond is something I truly understand and value.
I recently moved back to the UK after living in Koh Samui, Thailand, where I volunteered at a local dog and cat rescue centre. It was an incredibly rewarding and humbling experience. Many of the animals had suffered neglect or mistreatment, yet they still showed remarkable trust, loyalty and affection. Volunteering there strengthened my passion for animal welfare and inspired me to dedicate my time to caring for pets and supporting the people who love them.
My professional background has been in supporting vulnerable adults, young people and children. As a qualified Dyslexia Practitioner, I have worked with children with a wide range of special educational needs and behavioural challenges. While I have found this work rewarding, I decided it was time to follow my lifelong passion for animals. Pet sitting allows me to combine my caring, patient and dependable nature with something I genuinely love.
Although I am new to pet sitting as a profession, I have spent a lifetime caring for animals. I understand that pets are cherished members of the family, and I have the experience, patience and compassion to provide them with the care, attention and reassurance they deserve while you’re away.
I recently completed a Diploma in Dog Grooming, as well as a Diploma in Pet First Aid and CPR, giving me additional knowledge and confidence when caring for your pets.
I pride myself on being honest, respectful, reliable, upbeat and empathetic. Most importantly, I will care for your pets as if they were my own, ensuring they feel safe, loved and happy in their familiar surroundings.
Please note: I do not offer boarding in my own home. All pet sitting takes place in your home, allowing your pets to remain comfortable in the environment they know and love.
