We are experienced dog owners living in Falkland, Fife, and would love to welcome a dog into our home when their owners are away.

We had our own much-loved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel for many years, so we know just how important it is to find someone you completely trust to care for your dog.

We also have lots of experience looking after other people's dogs through TrustedHousesitters, both in our own home and while travelling.

For more than four years, we regularly cared for one particular dog whose owners travelled frequently. He originally came into our lives while our own dog was still with us, and the two became great companions. After our dog died, he became our much-loved “part-time dog”, staying with us regularly for holidays and longer periods – around 80 days in one year alone.

Sadly, he recently passed away and we have realised just how much we miss having a dog around the house, enjoying walks together and simply having that lovely canine company.

We don't currently have any pets of our own, so a visiting dog would get plenty of attention and company.

We're not looking to have lots of different dogs coming and going. Ideally, we'd love to meet one or two lovely dogs who could return to us regularly, allowing us to get to know them properly and giving their owners the reassurance of leaving them somewhere familiar each time they go away.

We understand what it's like to leave a much-loved dog in someone else's care. We want you to be able to go away knowing that your dog isn't simply being fed and walked, but is happy, relaxed and being treated as part of our household.

We would always want to meet you and your dog beforehand. Ideally, we'd have a walk together or arrange a short trial visit before a longer stay, so that everyone – particularly your dog – feels completely comfortable.

We're particularly suited to an adult, house-trained dog who enjoys good walks, plenty of company and a relaxed home life.

Most of all, we simply love dogs. We're not ready to have another dog of our own, but we'd love to have a “part-time dog” in our lives again.
