Hi, my name is Sophie, I’m 26 years old and I'm an animal carer and online language tutor. I’m from the UK, but have lived, studied & travelled all over the world! My background is in horses, farm animals, and rescue dogs and cats. 

I grew up with pets so I understand the love an owner has for their furry friend. I have owned cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs and fish before, and I have professional experience with horses, dogs, cats, ducks and chickens too. I have completed several house sits already, and for friends and family in the past. I spent an entire year doing back-to-back house sits in Australia caring for a variety of animals. I currently work at a stables with horses, dogs, cats, chickens and ducks. I work with rescue Rottweilers and German Shephards in particular, so I have experience with big and reactive dogs. My own dog had a heart condition and arthritis, requiring several medications and a very strict feed programme and routine, so I also know how to care for older animals or pets with special needs. 

In terms of my experience with horses, I have worked as a polo groom in Melbourne, at a US ranch, a stud, and riding school in the UK. I have handled foals, yearlings, young horses in general and stallions. I have worked with rescue horses and I have helped breaking horses in. I am a competent rider and polo player, and I have worked and travelled with competition horses. I have dealt with older horses and experienced several different health conditions and emergencies. I have also worked on farms, so have experience with farm animals too. 

I am reliable, responsible, caring, flexible, very tidy, respectful and super friendly! I care about health and wellness and I lead a very active lifestyle. I love going on runs, hikes and walks, so I would love to integrate some more dog walks into my life. I lead a calm and quiet lifestyle. I am very organised and tidy by nature, and I am always respectful of your home. My priority is looking after your beloved pet, and will always put their needs first. I will stay in touch, and send through regular updates and photos of your pets while you are away on while we are on walks.
