Hi, I'm Rebecca. I am originally from West Yorkshire and moved to York to study Law at university just over 2 years ago. I have grown up with many animals including dogs of a variety of breeds and I have always been passionate about dogs and their welfare, so being a dog sitter is the perfect job for me!

In addition to simply owning dogs, I have a range of experiences which support me in caring for animals. Firstly, I run the Dog Society at my university in which I care for dogs belonging to local owners and arrange meet-ups with other dogs and students. From this I have learned a lot about different breads and the best ways to interact with not only the dogs, but also the owners - I ensure that we have all relevant information including dietary and health, whilst keeping owners updated too. Also, I have experience with caring for a dog with health problems as my dog was very ill in the past (thankfully he's completely recovered now!). As a result, I am able to administer medication, understand signs of pain/discomfort and I am knowledgable about dietary requirements of dogs.

Due to living in student accommodation, I am unable to take pets into my home for boarding, but I am able to do anything outside of this. This includes visiting your home, including quick visits during the day or longer visits over multiple days; I am also happy to water plants, take in mail etc during these visits, and will of course maintain any security measures you have in your property. I can walk dogs, with lengths of walks varied to suit you and your dog. Based on the dog these could be short walks kept on the lead or I can take them to a field where they can run around, play with a ball etc. I am also happy to teach them basic commands if I am caring for them often (such as sit, stay, fetch).

Due to my university course having few contact hours, I am flexible with my availability as most of my work is done independently. I can be available morning, afternoon or evening to suit you.
