Hi, I'm Rita.

Caring for animals has been part of my life since I grew up on a farm, where looking after them was part of everyday life. From an early age I learned patience, responsibility, and that every animal has its own unique personality.

I'm DBS checked and have cared for both dogs and cats of my own, volunteered with the Animal Welfare Trust in Watford, and looked after dogs through BorrowMyDoggy. These experiences have given me valuable hands-on experience with pets of different ages, breeds, personalities and routines.

I provide dog walking, drop-in visits and overnight house sitting for both dogs and cats. My aim is to make your time away as stress-free as possible—for both you and your pets. By following their usual routine and giving them plenty of care, attention and reassurance, I hope they'll feel happy, settled and secure until you're home again. Dog walks and home visits are typically around 30 minutes in duration, although I am happy to discuss longer visits or walks depending on your pet's needs. 

Dog Walking

Every walk is tailored to your dog's age, fitness and personality. Whether your dog enjoys an energetic walk or prefers a slower pace, I'll make sure they receive the exercise, enrichment and attention that's right for them.

For safety, dogs remain on lead unless you have specifically requested otherwise. I generally walk dogs from one household at a time, allowing me to give them my full attention, although I'm happy to walk multiple dogs from the same family together.

Drop-in Visits

Visits can include feeding, a water change, companionship, playtime, garden breaks, litter tray cleaning and plenty of fuss if your pet enjoys it. Some animals need lots of interaction, while others simply appreciate a calm, reassuring presence. I never expect every pet to respond in the same way and always let them get to know me at their own pace, adapting my approach to suit both their personality and your instructions.

House Sitting

House sitting allows your pets to remain in the comfort and familiarity of their own home, helping to reduce stress while you're away. I'll follow their normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding, walks and bedtime habits.

House sitting includes overnight care and companionship throughout the day, while allowing flexibility for short periods away for pre-arranged commitments where necessary. I will always discuss your pet's routine and any time away from the home with you in advance to ensure you are completely comfortable with the arrangements. 

I understand that I'm not only caring for your pets but also looking after your home. I'll always treat both with care, respect and discretion, and your keys will be handled securely at all times.

I understand that trusting someone with both your pets and your home is a big decision. That's why I believe good communication is just as important as good pet care. I'll send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pets are safe, settled and well looked after.

If an emergency were ever to arise, I would contact you immediately, follow your instructions and seek veterinary care without delay if necessary.
