Hi, I'm Rita.

Caring for animals has been part of my life since I grew up on a farm. From an early age, I learned patience, responsibility and that every animal has their own personality, needs and way of doing things.

I've cared for dogs and cats of my own, volunteered with the Animal Welfare Trust in Watford, and looked after dogs through the BorrowMyDoggy App. I'm also DBS checked. These experiences have given me valuable hands-on experience with pets of different ages, breeds, personalities and routines.

I provide dog walking, drop-in visits, daytime care in your pet's own home and overnight house sitting for both dogs and cats. I adapt my approach to each pet and always take the time to understand their usual routine and what they need from their care.

Dog Walking

Dog walks are available for 30 or 60 minutes, depending on your dog's needs. Every walk is tailored to their age, fitness and personality. Whether your dog enjoys an energetic walk or prefers a slower pace with plenty of time to explore, I'll make sure they receive the exercise, enrichment and attention that's right for them.

I generally walk dogs from one household at a time, allowing me to give them my full attention, although I'm happy to walk multiple dogs from the same family together.

Drop-in Visits

Visits can include feeding, changing water, companionship, playtime, garden breaks, litter tray cleaning and plenty of attention if your pet enjoys it. Some animals need lots of interaction, while others are happier with a calm and reassuring presence. I always let pets get to know me at their own pace and follow your instructions carefully.

Daytime Care

For dogs who need company during the day, I can provide daytime care in their own home. This means they can stay in familiar surroundings while having someone there to keep them company, follow their normal routine and give them the attention they need throughout the day.

This can be particularly useful for dogs who don't enjoy being left alone for long periods, or for owners who need someone to care for their dog while they're away during the day. I'll spend time with your dog in their familiar surroundings and can include walks, feeding, playtime, garden breaks and companionship as agreed.

House Sitting

House sitting allows your pets to remain in the comfort and familiarity of their own home while you're away. I'll follow their normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding, walks, companionship and bedtime habits.

House sitting includes overnight care, with your pet's routine and the arrangements discussed with you in advance so that everything is clear before your booking begins.

I understand that I'm not only caring for your pets but also looking after your home. I'll treat both with care, respect and discretion, and handle your keys securely.

Good communication is an important part of my service. I'll keep you updated during your booking with messages and photos, so you can see how your pets are getting on while you're away.

If an emergency were ever to arise, I would contact you immediately, follow your instructions and seek veterinary care without delay if necessary.

I love getting to know each pet's individual personality and building lasting relationships with both pets and their owners. My aim is to provide thoughtful, dependable care that fits naturally into your pet's usual routine and gives you peace of mind while you're away.
