About Amy
Hello! my name is Amy, I am a type 1 diabetic, and a passionate animal lover with a dream of working closely with animals to help improve their wellbeing and happiness.
I have completed a level 2 and level 3 diploma in animal management at Capel Manor college, and I am currently studying canine hydrotherapy at angila ruskin university. Through my studies and hands-on-experience, I have developed a strong knowledge in animal care, behaviour, and welfare. I have become more passionate about animals during this period of my life and knew it was what I wanted for a career.
I have completed 75+ hours of work experience at Elmtrer pet Hotel, where I worked long shifts caring for dogs and cats. My responsibilities included walking dogs around the grounds, assisting with feeding, spending quality time with them, washing up bowls, and making sure they felt comfortable and cared for. I have also completed work experience at exotic explores in Brentwood, kingfishers and high beech riding school, this gave me experience with a wide range of animals from amphibians, rodents, reptiles, birds, and of course cats and dogs!
At home, i have my own dog, cat, and gerbil, which all are very loved and well cared for. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, from the moment I was born there was always an animal in the house, and I truly enjoy spending time with them and making sure they are happy, safe, and receiving all the attention they deserve.
I offer:
- dog walking
- pet sitting
- home check-ins
- feeding and playtime
- administering oral medication
- basic training support
- washing dogs/brushing them
During walks, I go off the experience of each dogs needs and personality. Walks are usually 30 minutes or longer depending on the dog, and if there is a secure dog park nearby, I am happy to take them there for extra enrichment.
For home visits and pet sitting, your pets will recieve lots of attention, care, playtime, toilet breaks, feeding, and companionship while you're away. I am happy to help with small households tasks, such as brining in parcels if needed. I will always give you updates on how the animal is doing and if they have eaten, gone out, etc.
I am comfortable caring for dogs of all size, although for walks I prefer dogs that are super well behaved and will not pull on walks. The safety and comfort of your pet will always come first.
My availability is very flexible during the half terms and summer holiday. I am also available on weekends. When it comes down to uni, it does restrict me a bit, however I am always happy to try arrange a way to work around it! I offer longer stays, overnight care, and extended daytime availability. If you need me to come in the afternoon to feed your animal on the day you come back, i will always say yes to doing so.
My motivation for becoming a pet sitter comes from my genuine love for animals and my passion for their happiness and wellbeing. I understand how important pets are as members of the family, and I will always care for them with kindness, patience, and attention!
I would love the opportunity to look after your pets and meet you for discussions!
Thank you for any opportunities, you give and thank you for choosing me if you do!
